Hello, I am very new here and this question has probably been answered 1,000 times, but I want to make sure I'm on the right track. I have had my Tacoma for 2 years now and have put over 80k miles. It is a 2012 4wd SR5 4.0. I have been running 255/70/17x9 0mm offset rims and have a slight rub when full turn in reverse. I need new tires at this point but would like to go larger. Based on other threads I am thinking of going with 5100's and 885 OME and a 1.5" aal. Would this give me a level and if I do this what size tire can I bump up to?

    Thank you!

Do the lift with current tires and see what you get/ if you have room for bigger tires.

the lift won't help you clear tires, because as soon as the suspension gets compressed, they will rub anyway. To take advantage of your lift, if you run bigger than stock tires you'll have to do some trimming inside the wheel wells. There are many threads here on how to do that, the search bar is your friend, friend.

A little rub isn't a big deal. I've been on 255/85/16 for years (same as a 255/80/17). With 0 offset, you should be inside the wheel well. Bump up to the /80 on your next set and cut out anything that rubs, if it's plastic. Mine rubbed the mud flaps, so I replaced them with low profile flaps (linked in my build). With SPC UCAs, I got rid of the rest of my rubbing by adjusting the alignment.
