    Hi guys,

I am very new to the off road community and I start looking at a clean used tacoma that was built for overlanding or something I can start from scratch. I just spotted a built tacoma on craigslist that caught my eyes. It is a 2015 TRD off road Tacoma with 81K mile asking for $26K. The price is little too good to be true in my opinion, with all the after-market parts and upgrades. My opinion might be heavily biased since I am newbie like I said.

Here is the detail of the truck:
post link(may expire soon so i copied and pasted the description below): https://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/cto/d/suquamish-2015-toyota-tacoma-trd-off/6969411092.html

Purchased new October of 2014 with 6 miles on it. Currently sitting at 81,300 miles; may go up a little bit, but it’s not a commuter vehicle. $26,000

    Maintenance performed by me:
Oil has been changed with Mobil 1 full synthetic and a Toyota genuine filter every 5k. I just bought another case of 10 filters (9 left) from my dealer, I’ll happily give to the new owner if they’re going to change their own oil.
30k & 60k changed the front & rear diff’s gear oil as well as the transfer case gear oil. Also changed out the spark plugs at 30k & 60k.
    70k flushed the transmission fluid.
Front pads and rotors were replaced at 65k.
Tires were new at 40k, all 5 have between 9/32nds & 10/32nds of tread left. 1 has a little gash in the sidewalk that’s been there for at least 10k no problems so far.

    The mods:
At The Helm steel bumper w/full hoops. Cali raised pods and an Amazon 20” bar mounted in the bumper for coming up on 2 years, zero issues. Smittybilt XRC 9500lb winch, synthetic line, factor 55 pro link.
Mobtown steel ifs, transmission, and transfer case skids.
    SOS sliders
SOS rear high clearance bumper w/swingout. Dual jerry can holder as well as a fold down table.
(All of the armor was rattle canned since I figured I’d be touching it up as time went on.)
2.5” King extended travel coilovers with resi’s and compression adjusters. 2.5” King extended travel rear shocks with resi’s and compression adjusters.
OME CS047R leaf packs w/D29XL extra leafs.
    SPC upper control arms
SCS F5 in dark matte bronze w/285/75r16 K02’s (all matching)
Cab mount chop with BAMF cmc plates.
Dobinson snorkel, slight oops on my part when it came to cutting a hole in my fender. The hole saw got away from me and scarred the fender flare a tiny bit.
    Cali Raised ditch lights.
Tech Deck extreme duty model, dash board device mount. It holds your phones, iPads, gps units using ram mounts if you don’t know what it is.
Rear diff breather mod, routed to the drivers side bed cubby.
    35% tint on the windshield.
5% tint on all the rest of the windows.
I could possibly be persuaded to throw in the weathertech floor liners and wet okole seat covers. (As long as I haven’t sold them separately.) However I do have the carpeted OEM mats in the truck now, they’re brand new.

The truck is used, and it was driven off-road a good amount. The interior is immaculate however the exterior does have a couple dents and there’s a fair amount of pinstriping. The wheels all have some nicks in them, no bends or cracks though. Overall I would still say the condition of the truck is good-very good.

Could you please give some advice on buying a used tacoma and things to look for? Either specific to this truck or general ones. Appreciate a lot!

Good price and well-known forum member. Buy with confidence... If you can, get under the truck and look for leaks, damage, bent things, etc.
