    Hey guys,
I just joined TacomaWorld since I finally saved up enough money to buy my first Tacoma, a 2014 Tacoma TRD in grey. I was wondering if anyone had any resources or tips for offroad driving.

I've driven a smaller car since I got my license and would like to start taking the Tacoma offroad but I wanna read up first and make sure I don't jack up my truck.

    thanks guys!

Welcome to TW and congrats on your purchase! Most important tip is to know the limitations of your truck but more importantly know your limitations as a driver. I'd recommend going with a small group of experienced offroaders so you can get some hands-on experience.

Air down your tires, even if it's just a dirt road. Better traction and much smoother ride that way. You'd be surprised how many people don't do this. Having a good air compressor for airing up before you get back on the street is a must, too.

Other than that, start small and easy to get a feel for your truck and the 4x4 system...don't wheel alone until you feel comfortable you can handle it and any adverse situations that might come up.

    Welcome to TW!

    Welcome!

Wait before you try it on anything rough, and before trying airing down, buying offroad gear and armor, offroad tires and stuff like all that- first check out the regional TW groups and see if anyone is doing a meetup in your area, or find someone who can show you the ropes on what and where to buy gear, and the best way to learn - to go out with someone who is knowledgeable on a drive that you can follow.

4x4’s are great for keeping you unstuck and safe, but they can also be really bad at it if you do the wrong things.
