I have the Sony Playstation Gold Wireless headset and I love it. I think the Platinum is out now and is even better. Go wireless. I have buddies i play with that are wired and they seem to bug out sometimes, oddly seeming like the controller has to be pointed at the playstation to hear them clearly. The Gold/Platinum can be charged while using them so having a 6-10ft cord makes that a non issue if it's dying on you, but mine lasts a solid 8+ hours before needing charged.

I looked at the playstation brand ones but just like to do my research on them first.

I tried to plug in my Bose QC25's into the controller, but i'm not getting any game sound and the mic doesn't work either.....

I've had great success out of my playstation brand gold so I'd highly recommend it. That's not saying others aren't good. Turtle Beach makes good products.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...
I had a Playsation Headset years ago with our PS3. Broke in 5 months of use. Since then I have always used Steelseries. I bought my son an Arctis 7 for his PS4 and he loves it.

Turtle Beach Stealth 700 is rad. I picked them up about a week ago and my gameplay vastly improved. It’s incredible the sound details they put out vs the tv speakers.

Headsets are a 'buy once, cry once' item. I like the Steel Series products as well. No luck with Turtle Beach stuff lasting.
