I am a 55-year old woman that loves her 2007 Tacoma. I had a 1992 Toyota 4x4 until I purchased the 2007 as new. The ‘92 had 150K when I sold it. My 2007 only has 84K miles on it. I have just recently begun to DIY some of the necessary repairs the dealership has recommended at quarterly (3-4 mo) inspections. I’m tired of unnecessary repair recommendations and overpricing of parts and labor. I have a local auto repair shop that will do more difficult work. And I can purchase and provide them OEM parts. Anyway, I joined this forum to get an idea on prices and difficulty of certain repairs. I will be looking for advice along the way as to what I can/should do myself, and what I should have professionally done. Thanks in advance for all the future comments and advice I receive here.

Welcome. Almost any maintenance can be done yourself. Once you see how easy it is to drain oil and change filters, the bug will catch and you'll want to dive in deeper. :cookiemonster:

Pro tip. Make sure it’s the oil and not the transmission!

Welcome! Bought a used 2014 Tacoma w/ 60K miles a couple of years ago. Wasn't exactly sure how to change the oil then. TW forums is a fantastic resource for learning about & maintaining/upgrading Tacos. Now I know about 100x more, and have another 500x to learn.

As you have a 2nd generation Tacoma, be sure to check out the 2nd-gen specific forum:
