    Hi all,

Been lurking here for awhile doing research. I'm about to pull the trigger on:

    1 - 2010 TRD OR PreRunner with 50k miles

    OR

    2 - 2012 Base PreRunner (super white w/ black fender flares-bumper) 23k miles.

Both same $$. Both excellent mechanically. 2012 looks pristine, 2010 looks well-used, but nothing off-putting.

Financing either one, after hefty down payment.

    Decisions...decisions...

What do you plan to do with your truck?

Are you a weekend warrior offroader? Do you really need the rear locker?

Is this your daily driver? Do you want to drive it offroad and risk wrecking or breaking something?

Do you want to buy a "new to you" truck that looks well-used?

    My Opinion...
Honestly i dont like the black flares on the white tacos. But that is just my opinion. I have a 4x4 sr5 texas model and its done everything i want it to without the locker. But its also my daily driver so i dont put it through anything too rough. The newer one will probably have a longer extended warranty...

All in all its your truck and you are the one driving it. Get the one that you think you would enjoy the most. But think about these things.

Plus think really hard about 4x4
If you think you might need it from time to time, I would wait. I couldn't imagine not having a 4x4 but I also take it off road a lot

Ya, I've gone back and forth w/ whether I care about 4x4. The only time, in my life, I've ever considered using 4x4 was when I was 18 and had a Bronco that I took to the dunes specifically to go wheelin. 20 years later, and I've gotten by without it just fine. Hell, this truck is replacing a Volvo wagon! I don't really even need a truck, let alone 4x4.

Some fire roads maybe to get to backpacking trails or fishing spots, but that's about it. Ski trips, but only to places with good, plowed roads, so chains would be fine I'd think.
