I Just got an 02 Tacoma sr5 2wd and am thinking about putting a lift on it. I really wanted a 4x4 but in reality I don't go off road that much and couldn't pass up the deal I got on the 2, but I really love the look of lifted tacomas. Im super new to this so I don't really know where to start. I would like to have probably about a 3 inch lift and fit like 32 or 33s. not sure if I can buy those tires for my stock rims or not. also not sure what the best lift is. to buy a kit or individual parts. any help is appreciated. thanks

    Hey, another newbie here.
Sounds like you got a good start, knowing what tire size you want.
You should be able to run 33's with a 3" lift, although it's debatable
wether or not you will need to trim.

Stick around the Suspension forum and you'll start to "get it."

What's your budget BTW? That can help you determine what kit to buy.
Do you want a spacer or suspension lift?

I want a suspension lift and of course id like to stay as cheap as possible but still get a good product. I guess a ballpark number would be about $600 or so just for the lift. the tires I have now are 215/75/15 im wondering if I will need new rims to fit the size tires I want.
