    2019 2.7 access cab 4x4
    Howdy y'all,

Just recently purchased a 2019 2.7 SR access cab 4x4 auto (go easy on me... got a great deal, and couldn't afford the v6. I'm coming from a 4cyl ford focus hatch so this is a major upgrade lol). I'm looking to eventually build her out for camping and just mild off- roading. So far, I've done a decent amount of research regarding suspension and tires. I think my first performance- based modification other than getting rid of the side steps, which look funny on a truck low enough for a child to hop in to, will be the OME 2.5in lift kit with the UCA's, and Toyo open country AT3's, probably 255 or 265. I would eventually consider adding a camper shell, possibly some armor, etc. My biggest concern is added weight to the already gutless 2.7 (please don't roast me too hard). I'm not looking to win any drag races, and the truck's stock power output doesn't bother me at all. I'm open to any constructive advice on how I should build this truck the smart and efficient way.

    Cheers!

That's a horrible idea. What time?
    Welcome to TW.

Be prepared for a ton of advice! Research some other threads on your subject matter as well.

One thing I think is worth considering for your suspension is building toward you anticipated constant weight. If you're going to add a camper shell, that's constant weight. Consider what else you may want to add, and think about the springs. I built mine with heavy front and rear springs because I planned on an RTT and a front steel bumper / winch combo.

"Pizza cutter" tires might be a good option with the 4 cyl. You'll have a little less rolling resistance and may help you keep some gas mileage with the added weight. I'm running 265/75/17 KO2's on 17x9 wheels and have lost about 1.5 mpg's when I went with them full time. (I was running road and off road tires until I got tired of switching them out.) I'm also carrying about 600 lbs of constant weight, so heavy springs front and back.

    Have fun and enjoy it!

I was in the same boat when I bought my SR5. It doesn’t look so SR5-y anymore lol
