I'm the proud owner of a 2004 Tacoma 4x4, high/low range, 165,000 miles, superb condition. The manner of coming to own it was a very sad event - a great friend of mine since 1964 died and left the truck to me. He was a stud Alpine racer specializing in Downhill and attained high prominence in Colorado alpine racing then was a ski rep and lastly repped high quality real work gloves selling them in the North Country - Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, North and South Dakota - ranchers, farmers, construction. He drove this truck on his annual route to sell to retail dealers. He was scrupulous about maintenance.
So, I hated getting the truck under those circumstances but was very happy to be an owner of a 2004 4x4. Times change so, reluctantly, I must sell it. The 1971 Datsun 240Z which I restored years ago is calling for more love. I've done the Kelly Blue Book and other similar websites. The values I am seeing if I sell it in Fort Worth, TX are ranging from $7,500 to $8,750. It seems to me that this truck is sort of a cult truck like my Subaru WRX Sti was a cult rice burner. So, maybe there are folks out there that would value it at a higher price..
I'd like to know if I'm smokin' d___ or I'm on the right track. Any advice is welcome.
