Every search I do circles back to FK20HBR8. Maybe they replaced them sometime during the 3rd gen timeline.

 

Those descriptions are very generic. Click and paste if you will. The part number you posted comes back to the FK20HBR8

while they might be oem in your case, i would not suggest buying plugs off Amazon. there's been a lot of documented fakes there, as well as ebay, which can lead to a whole host of other issues.

Ya know that is an ultra simple device. I use the iridium's only because they last longer. Has had zero effect on fuel mileage or performance in my 4L. Don't forget a little anti seize on the threads.

 

Really? I've shown you 2 pictures from Dealerships that sell on Ebay with pictures. I've shown you what it says on the quick guide here. How about this genius, go look on RockAuto and find a Platinum plug. All iridium. Is it not feasible that Toyota replaced the platinum plugs with iridium and didn't personally let you know for chrisake?

 

I was only using that as a reference. I got mine from Rockauto

 

many Amazon and ebay product pages are set up to generate the most clicks to the page, not to provide the most accurate info. i've gotten a number of small engine carbs off amazon/ebay, and the product part number almost never is listed within the product listing numbers they provide. techumseh only made a few dozen different variations of carbs, but most will pop up with the same nomenclature in the site search. i typically need to start with an image search, which eventually leads to an amazon/ebay product page link. in that case, i go off the pictures, with the visual bolt, adjustment screw, and bowl locations needing to be accurate to my needs.

spark plugs are different, as many newer styles cannot(shouldn't be) be gapped due to all the special coatings and tip types they're using now-- you're buying a part that is directly plug-n-play based on usage, but really can't readily see the differences between each plug model.

sure, maybe a different model number is the same plug but a 0.45 gap instead of an 0.30. but it could also be made for a different electrical rating, or engine heat range that could cause either misfire or efficiency issues. neither of those things are immediately identified in the part number most times.

 

Again, look at the box. The OEM part # is the correct one that was posted by Gregg and it cross references to the FK20HBR8 which is exactly what came out of my 2019. I really don't know what else to say. Maybe someone should let the author of the quick reference on here know that there may be an error

But that's NOT correct. You said they are platinum, which they are not. What is the platinum Denso part# for platinum the plug you are referring to? You only mention the last half of the OEM part#

 

post number 20 & 21 take a look clearly states platinum, sir. straight up that’s the number that comes up when you do a Toyota parts search.

 

I'll ask again because you seem to be struggling with this. What is the manufacturer part # on said plug that comes with that part # you specified? Furthermore, why does my owners manual specify iridium ONLY?

 

I guess one part of it is is you’re talking about 2019 I’m talking about 2023. There’s a bit of a difference isn’t there
