Newlyweds considering our first Tacoma. Good buy?

    Well, yes some rust on the frame on that truck, but serious, no. Looks like surface rust and very easy to treat at this point. Pretty expensive truck but looks in really nice shape overall. If I was in the market I would seriously consider this one.

    I was gonna say the same thing... from those pictures, that is NOT bad rust...I've seen bad rust! That said I'd try and talk down to 6.5K

    Well, I suppose I should clarify...more rust than I was comfortable with purchasing, and more rust than was on the Tacoma I eventually purchased.

    AND, I just wanted to show the OP some photos of a vehicle that was registered out of California as an "example" of potential rust on a frame.

    Next time I will choose my words more better. :thumbsup:

    Get a double cab 1st gen or go with a 2nd gen. I've owned quite a few of these trucks. In my area you can get an early second gen for the same price as a 1st gen because of supply and demand
