One person looking to rob a house wont go to a house that is known to have weapons. They most likely just want some items or cash...they got a motive and guns are cool to find but they really need the cash. If they know the person, can case the place, or know that the person is indeed not home, then big uh oh.
Later on down that road, he may be with his cracky friends scoping new places...he can then let his friends know that house got guns and his friends may agree to barge in to get weapons to further keep their high going and to assist in future fundraisers.

Sure, people can see it's freedom of information but I think it's unfair that county and cops can have their info hidden. I live on an island, so it's pretty easy to find out what you need. But you dont want the wrong people to know you have guns, then they bring friends and overpower you. It's not hard busting open a safe either.

Ive had a ton of friends who had guns stolen from their home or inside cars. It's bad enough criminals can just walk into your house, slap you on the head and take your shit..but when they know you have guns, they can plan shit better.

When I was in Chicago they were all over. They have a tribe or family everything is a scam or con.
They would prey on older people, ring the door bell when open they walk in take things and leave. Lots of them seal driveways as a front. they are all over the US, lots of them in Texas. They come from all over the world lots of them are violent killers.
Lots of people think they are harmless like on I love Lucy or its a joke.

We have gypsies down here too. Some not in the same form as what you mentioned but same idea. We would have guys in meat trucks drive up your driveway and try sell meat, some where seen taking items from peoples houses. They were a legit business but had shady people working for em. Their was a white van with kirby painted on the driver side door of the van..they were known "spotters".

    Talk to your local lawmakers.
Public record is public record, and anything that is public record is available upon request.
If resistance is met, then the FIA card is pulled.

But it is working in our favor in California.

The Calguns Foundation is filing FIA suits all over the state to get CCW applications released.
Why? To examine for disparity. If Brad Pitt was issued a permit using "Personal Protection" as his "reasonable cause", but Joe Plumber was denied, and there are no criminal elements in Joe's background, then an equal protection lawsuit is warranted.

LOL... that's some funny stuff. Stupid to post the list, but well within what I consider freedom of the press. This would not have happened in a state like PA.

This is why I don't register my guns. I could register them if I wanted but who in their right mind would do so if not required by law?

the reason the LSM publishes (where allowed by law) this info, is because they view "us" as the danger to society... just like the sex offenders, etc... it is first demeaning, ...but the side effect is that they've done the data mining/research for the real criminals...

this is why most states have been passing laws to forbid them from publishing this!

The editor who published the list of names got blasted on Facebook today. Someone found his house, phone number and a picture of his house and posted it. Payback's a bitch.

I hope nobody would be so stupid to actually harm the dude. Public humiliation and harrassment is what he deserves.

FB, being the bitch it is, deleted the posts that had a picture of the editor's house and his info.

And an interactive map for the addresses of the "publication's" employees:
    https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa...855591&spn=0.379541,0.222049&t=m&source=embed

Just doing to them as they have done to others.

    A little background:
    http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/25/us/new-york-gun-permit-map/index.html?hpt=hp_bn1

And for anyone naive enough to think this is acceptable behavior even though the info is public, the opinion of a professional:
"The Poynter Institute, a school for journalists, notes that some other news agencies have published various types of databases as well.
"Publishing gun owners' names makes them targets for theft or public ridicule. It is journalistic arrogance to abuse public record privilege, just as it is to air 911 calls for no reason or to publish the home addresses of police or judges without cause," Al Tompkins, a Poynter senior faculty member, said in a statement Wednesday. "Unwarranted publishing of the names of permitted owners just encourages gun owners to skip the permitting."

Its very different than that. The gun owers listed are not criminals..

The media is out to make EVERY gun owner look bad and criminalize them.

where is the Simpson's picture of the angry mob? those are the non gun owners, media, politicians after us :(

I do not understand what their intent was on publishing the information? Just because the information is public does not mean they had the right to exploit it. I almost feel sorry for the journalists not involved that were outed. Wonder if this article will manifest or ruin any of their careers? An individual on the editorial staff has a 4,600 sq. ft. 1.5 million dollar house so i doubt they are doing to bad.
