    Sure to be more unvanished reporting from the networks...

    This (in the states at least for now) is TV broadcast media "news". Current TV is being bought out by Al Jazeera. IMO, in its current form, Current TV is tabloid reporting at best but, Al Jazeera wants to convert it to a serious news outlet. Do a little research (look at the history of both) on Al Jazeera and Current TV...it's sure to make any true US citizen proud.

    Why does the comment by "wileyC" raise the spector of tinfoil? Many journalists will say outright the exact things said in his comment.

    I've had a newspaper journalist sit in my very living room (at a party) and, knowing full well I'm a gun owner, argue for well over an hour against gun ownership - "Americans are too ignorant and immature to own guns," "I'm more afraid of "law-abiding" gun owners than criminals," and lah, lah, lah, te, lah.

    Everyone at the party (I suspect including him) was waiting for me to tear into him. Out of politeness, I didn''t. Regardless, these people clearly hate guns and gun owners.

    I think most in this thread see it the other way around. And that is the press (in this case) is in a way "attacking" those who are living within the intent of the 2nd Amendment.

    I fail to see how being pissed about someone publishing personal information that puts people at risk falls into a 1st vs 2nd amendment supporters thing.


    Though I respect your option to use your 1st Amendment rights, I will exercise my 1st Amendment rights by calling bs. ;)

    There is a difference between seeking the gov't to censor the press (violating the 1st Amendment) and expressing disagreement/disgust with irresponsible journalism. Saying that this newspaper sucks and put folks in danger is just exercising right to free speech, just like the newspapers freedom of press.

    Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
    I said it on FB to a friend who believes they are "al queda." Al Jazeera is one of the least political news agencies around. I actually go to AJ to read the news more than I do most American news agencies. They don't have a political agenda on either side, just want to report the news. No left vs right in their reporting, just facts and perspectives.

    where did you get this impression?.... the 1st and 2nd go hand-in-hand, ...the 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th...

    the reason what this "paper" did was despicable is because they did it as a means of persecuting their supposed enemies (i.e. those evil gunowners), ...they go overboard to treat gunowners like pediphiles, and in doing so (publishing a "database" of info) could very well provide would-be criminals w/ valuable info for their trade...

    ...so sorry if i don't shed crocodile tears when they get a taste of their own medicine... :cool:
