^^ Oh, yeah. Protecting themselves is just fine and dandy. It's our protection and security they want to remove.

Anyway, I trust "those people" even less than the government. I'm sure more than one has imagined what they could do if their hired flunkies are someday the only civilians armed.

Assuming quoted text either means you don't own guns, don't plan to own guns or if they were banned you will possess them illegally.

Based on the quoted text above and IMO, people don't understand that rather or not they own a gun (or even ever plan on buying a gun or not) they still will be affected. What they don't understand is they will not longer be able to have the same selection, abilty or options. They will also be giving up at least more of 1 of 10 of the Amendments in the Bill of Rights that have been in place and worked fine for a little over 222 years.

Considering some of the following data from the CDC.

    US population = 311,000,000 +
US deaths per year due to tabacco = 443,000 +/-
US deaths per year due to motor vehicles = 32,000 +
US deaths due to murders commited using guns = 11,500 +/- (the vast majority not involving AR15/AK47 style guns).

    Other available data.

The average "gun murder" perp has more than one murder per crime event.

Excluding military, total existing fire arms in the US = 140,000,000 + (will the new rules change the avalaibility especially to perpetrators already breaking the law by committing murder).

The US does not have the highest gun to citizen ratio...Switzerland does and has a much lower gun related murder rate (it's not the guns).

Average number of victims per mass murder event where LEOs stopped the crime = 14.29.

Average number of victims per mass murder event where the intended victims were armed and stopped the crime = 2.33.

Considering the above, it seems tabacco should be the biggest target in the hunt for "helping" citizens not creating even more laws that serve to violate citizens rights.

LOL. Of course, a bit of an exaggeration. Since a large percentage don't own guns in Texas, there should be at least a few blank areas (minus orange dots) on that map (around liberal Austin, for example).

Stew, Stew, Stew, Joe D believes you are cornfused. I've always understood liberals to be consummate defenders of the Constitution, Bill of Rights and additional amendments. Could Joe D be wrong? :)

Oe, Oe, Oe, this isn't the place for political discussions. Thus, let me just say some liberals seem to not give a darn about the Bill of Rights unless it somehow benefits them or their ilk. Now, I'm certainly pushing the limits of my political comment allocation at this point, so will not say anymore.

As per the norm Stew is correct. I too shall cease and desist this line of thought as I seem to miss judge the lines of acceptability on certain topics.

He is unable to deny nor confirm if said sibling exists but, fears he has already said too much. :)

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
In another state. Plus, money to get some guns back that you can legally have in another state.

The best thing would to not require a permit to exercise your constitutional right.

Alaska does not require a permit to carry a loaded concealed handgun. Works just fine up there.

yep... when the gov't is allowed to collect information it becomes a liability to exploitation, ...either as a matter of accident, or by nefarious purposes as in this case...
