I think I've been there before way back when I was in high school. My concern is how's the parking. Will it accommodate all the trucks, Place for us to set camp and party, and the most impartant thing is...is booze allowed. I'm just putting out a feeler right now for ideas. Can you recon that spot when you have a chance and get back to me dude.

Hey what 'bout MLK park in the LBC lol right there off Orange across from LBCC hahaha j/k

Yeah I dont know much about how his site is run money-wise.

Yep ive known the Iceman for almost 10 years back when he used to fish on a Cobra FnD.

This economy would be tough to open a kayak shop. We run what has become one of the 2 largest online stores and even that is slow right now. One of the biggest killers honestly is stores like us and Austin Kayak that will ship a kayak most anywhere for 49.00. No sales tax+ already lower prices because of our buying power+ cheap shipping spells trouble for a lot of smaller shops.

See how many shops there are already there. If its an open market and there is the interest in kayak fishing then you could possibly make it. Your biggest killer will be the amount of money needed for an opening order with most manufactures.

It has always been a dream of mine to open a bait and tackle shop. And I figured since I'm moving to Oklahoma in a few years I should open a bait a d tackle shop/kayak store there. It's cheaper then a boat and more reliable then a float tube. It's popular in California but not as much over there and there's no shortage of lakes. I know the economy is tough but I think I can do it.

By all means try it. I want out of this state so bad and have considered doing it quite a few times since I have so many contacts in the industry and have been running one of the largest in the country for 5 years now. I too have thought about tackle shops since I used to work for several lure manufactures and have a background in sportfishing. Right now I am running OEX 4 days a week plus have a contract for Manufacturing with Tenacious Baits and just took a job offer to deck on a boat 2-3 days a week on top of it all. Fishing is all I know.

If you need any info and such when you do it lemme know.

Yah sure thing. I just can't wait to get out of the Marines so I can get this started. I wanted to see if I can get a job in a kayak shop maybe weekends and I don't care 'bout pay. just so I can see how the industry works, maybe network, and see how to work on a kayak. I know, like in the Marines sometimes it's not what you know but who you know. I've been fishing sine I was a kid in New York and it carrie on to my adult life. Bu I haven't had much time to do much of it anymore with a new baby and my current situation with the military (not anything leagl).

So yeah, I definetly hit you up if I have anyquestion. :D
