    First thing, I’m in Canada.

I have the UCAs, already installed OME EL112r 2” springs. Old leafs were bad, that’s what started all this.

Eibachs - $1000 all in, plus a shop to install the spring hats.

    Bilsteins - $1500 for 6112s(assembled) and 5125 rears.

Is there one that’s inherently a better purchase? I’m going over the differences and I can’t see a clear winner, except for the price.

All will be going on an ‘06 DCLB glorified mall-crawler. Only off-road will be dirt roads.

Will I be fine with the Eibachs’ for my use? Or, is the on-road performance of the Bilsteins’ another $400 better?

Yup. I’ve been checking. That’s one thing I never considered on suspension parts before.

    Any advice?

Personally I think it's time to try something different. I've never considered eibach before, but I like the fact that they are local, to me anyways. I like the price point for their stage two setup. I haven't read anything negative about them at all. The problem is, just like practically everything else, finding them in stock.

In your original post you specified Bilstein 6112/5160 but didn’t say which model Eibach kit you are looking at. No way to give fair comparison or feedback without that info.

FWIW I have the Bilstein 6112/5160 setup and it has been great so far. Very popular setup, lots of people running it.

    Sorry, you’re right.

Looking at the Eibach Pro Truck Stage 1 set at the bottom for 2-2.5” lift.

Eibach 2.0 kit… absolute hands down best mod yet! :101010: Also, this kit is micro-adjustable. With a turn of the collar, you can dial things in exact… not just “close enough!” Please excuse the wheel/tire combo… lol. Rims are still on back order. :annoyed:

Very nice @Taco1004 . But here in Canuckistan, the 2.0 kit is about $700 out of my price range. And, knowing me, I’d be constantly adjusting it and bugger something up. :D I’m a bit of a tweak-a-holic.

    @ZMan2k2

The Eibach kit retails for $1099. Above you said you were considering kits in the $1000-$1500 range… so I thought these would be right about perfect. Shipping was free… maybe to Canada it’s free too?

The Eibach 2.0 coil overs are $1300CAD, I’ve been drooling. Then it’s $350 for the rears and $250-300 shipping depending on shop here. Then there’s tax. Unfortunately out of the budget. The prices I started with were “all in” Canuckbucks, no tax. Our prices are 30-40% more than for you.

My rear shocks were included in the price of the fronts. It is a kit. The only thing that’s not included are the rear lift components, either AAL, leaf pack or block kit… you may want to call Eibach and confirm your prices. And buy through them, not an aftermarket distributor. Never pay markup fees! If you can get in at $1300cad with rears included, that would make it a bit easier to swallow.

Thanks, I just saw the rears are included. Does indeed make things easier. Unfortunately, Eibach does ship direct, but it’s pricey. On top of that are duties, customs, brokerage, and whatever else the shipping company and the government come up with. Math is hard. o_O

I hear ya. That’s why for the moment, I just did rear lift blocks. Couldn’t fathom the money for OME full leaf pack right now on top of everything else I’m spending. I used the Supreme Suspension 1.5” solid billet aluminum block kit. It’s a lot nicer that the cast steel ones and should hold its finish much longer as well. I believe it was about $85us, including u-bolts. Eibach makes a nice 1” aluminum block kit as well, but I wanted a little more than that.

Haha! I went the other way. My rear leafs were flat and rode like trash. I have Bilstein 5100s all around, set to level the front. But I was nose high, my springs were shot. So, since I’m doing this but by bit, I already have the OME EL111r leafs in. They’re good, stiffer than stock, but good. I haul sometimes, so the stiffer spring didn’t bother me. I just purchased some JBA HC UCAs. Now I’m looking to finish it off. I am liking the Eibach 2.0 kit.

Question. Did you need the sway bar relocation brackets? I’ve seen it go either way. Since parts are so hard to come by lately, and this is my daily, I want to have everything ready to go.
