NFA wait times and BS thread

Just got the call on one of my stamps (.22 can), 1yr 7 days.

 

So I got tired of waiting to build my SBR to test my can, I'm sitting there last night drinking a beer and I get an epiphany, I can put that on my .22. So I did, and I just happen to have sub-sonic .22 rounds

The only thing you could hear is the action cycling. Hollywood quiet. Fucking awesome.

Cool. I just picked up a Gemtech GM-9 this morning.

I need to find a threaded barrel for my Springfield Range Officer 9mm 1911.

 

So I just picked up my can since it took a year and a day for the stamp. Put it on the AR, go to the range. Load up, fire. Turns out I have purchased a grenade launcher. Range office comes over, gets it, he is familiar with my supressor, goes through the process signs me off as good to go. Another grenade. Fucking thing is going back to Surefire. I am fucking furious!!!!

Worked awesome on the 10/22 takedown though. Quiet as a motherfucker.

 

So what exactly is it doing that is bad?

 

From what was said in another thread his suppressor is dismounting from the muzzle brake and flying down range when fired on a AR.
I believe he also stated that the rangemaster who is familiar with his suppressor tried remounting the suppressor and had him fire it again and same thing happened.

 

Wow! I can't imagine waiting a year and have that happen.

 

I just told my wife I am building her a .22 yesterday and I come back to see this. Even when I am not on Tacoma World, I know whats going on

I am gonna go with a volquartsen receiver and build off of that. She wants me to get an Optimus to shoot it off of because itll let her shoot my AR more too but I almost want to get her a dedicated .22 can.

 

I have a buddy that built a .22 off of a tacsol X-Ring receiver and Kidd trigger and the thing will shoot pennies off a 2X4 @ 150+ yards for about $250 bucks cheaper....

 

So I called Silencer Shop and swapped out the Sandman K for a Griffin Optimus because my wife wants a suppressor that works for every gun I have and the .22 I'm building her. Its a surprise but I'll have a year to tell her Apparently, the Optimus is discontinued and being replaced with the same design just different name. It's back order until something new happens but at least I could order it. So I have to wait until the new model is out, wait for the transfer, and then wait for the processing time.

 

Sishop told you about the Optimus being discontinued and renamed?
I'm kind of surprised they would rename it and keep the same design.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the Alpha being renamed as well?

 

I would be really happy if they make some minor tweaks and make it even better but let you use Optimus parts as well. Silencer Shop at first told me they couldnt even order it but when the guy saw he could backorder it he said it was cool for me to change my order.

As far as rebates go I dont know but as of right now Griffin is still running the promotion so its a coin flip if it gets the promotion. Would be sweet if it does because I want to buy a couple mount for my 300BLK and 556.

 

Silencer co wouldn't extend their promotion out to accommodate mine that I bought July 3rd. They did give me a 20% off coupon though

 

That's silencerco and not silencer shop though. Also silencer shop isn't the one doing the promotion it's Griffin Armament

Can anyone give me a list of suppressors/suppressor companies that use the HK 3 lug system for QD?
