    Just getting started...
They are fantastic guns. Been really liking what CZ's making lately. Between the P10, Shadow and the 455/457, they have some winners out there.

Griffin Armament 30 SD-K is supposed to release today. From the little info I have it may be my next can, I was going to go with a Recce 5 but this may change that.
Allegedly it’s around 6.5”, gate lock mounting for A2 style devices, and it’s supposed to be very competitive for the size.

Hmmm, the 30SD-K May be on hold, I qualify for Griffins GI program and can get a Recce 5 for sub $500 pre-stamp.
The 30SD-K would be around $650 pre-stamp and I’m not sure if the change of muzzle devices and extra cost offsets the .30 cal ability.

Necro to get some opinions here. I'm thinking of putting a can together, Form 1. Got a few questions for the enlightened:

What can I gain by going to a trust, other than the ability to have multiple people possess a suppressor?

I'm planning out a titanium and stainless can to pull double duty on .223 and 9mm rifles. How much performance can I expect to lose from the larger bore diameter required by a 9mm can on the 223, when compared to a can dedicated to 223 use?

Not positive but I believe it’s easier to will an NFA item when part of a trust, otherwise no other pros that I’m aware of.

My Griffin Optimus sounds very similar in the 7.9” configuration with either the 9mm or .22 endcap on my SBR, I did notice more gas in the face with the smaller endcap though, so I just run the 9mm endcap.

Gas in the face is a concern for sure. the big one for me is hearing safety though, I want to not deafen myself excessively in an HD situation or outdoors.

I noticed no difference in sound, I wear Bluetooth earbuds when shooting suppressed.

I typically run the can on my SBR for home defense but it’s naked right now, I can only imagine how loud 12.5” 5.56 is inside a hallway with a muzzle brake.

Heirs can transfer class 3 items tax free on a form 5.

An effective dual 9mm/223 can is not possible. 223 will sound like crap. Subs and pistol cans need close spacing and lots of baffles to sound good. High velocity rifle cans are better with more space and fewer baffles. Bore size is only one of many parameters...

    Make 2 cans.....

Not bad, I might have to spend a lot of money on some NFA...nothing like having the government take our rights and then sell them back to us after making us wait 4 months.o_O

Posting this in a few relevant threads to try and get a range of input:

I'm looking into my first suppressor purchase, looking for input and alternatives. First, my use cases:

Current host: 16 inch AR15, general purpose rifle for home defense, 2gun competition, plinking, rifle instruction, and limited hunting use.

Planned future hosts: bolt action 308 or 6.5 Creedmoor, 18-20 inches for hunting and precision rifle duty.

I don't plan to do mag dumps or other tomfoolery requiring a heavy-duty can. Lighter is better, shorter as well, as I'd like it to still maintain the illusion of maneuverability within the home. Hearing safe is mostly optional. I should be able to switch between hosts relatively quickly and leave the other rifle still functional.

I've been looking at the Griffin Explorr 300 as a can that should meet these needs and gives quality muzzle devices for when I can't run the can. Looking for other options that might do as well as the above or better at a similar price point, but I don't know any of the competitors in this space besides Sig or maybe Q.

Any input is appreciated, if I left anything critical out I'm open to questions.

The dead air Sandman S is only .4" longer than the Griffin but it weighs 17.7 ounces (VS the Griffin weighing in at 12.7), the Sandman K is only 5.4" (Vs 6.4" for the Griffin) and weighs 12.8 OZ but from the initial look that I took at it when it was released I read that is was fairly loud.

Rugged has a impressive Micro 30 can available as well, 6.5" in full config and 5" in the short config, 15.1 OZ and 11.8 OZ in the respective configurations, and Rugged also uses a taper mount system (I've heard neither good nor bad about it), MSRP is over 1K but it's sub 800 on SiShop.

If I were buying it I would probably go for the Griffin but that's because I'm already in the Griffin Ecosystem (plus I get a discount), the Rugged Micro 30 sounds like it might be a good fit for you.

If you're current/prior .mil, LEO, FF, EMS, or other gov't/state/first responder you can get a major discount through the Griffin GI program, if you go with Rugged or another brand it would be worth reaching out to see if they offer such a discount.

My big 3 right now are the Griffin Explorr, Q Trash Panda, and TBAC 7. I guess to boil it down, I really want a sub-7 inch, sub-pound suppressor with decent muzzle device options. The Cherry bomb is a decent comp, but has no alternatives. The TBAC has a great break and an expensive 3 prong (and I'd like to avoid a 3 prong FH). Griffin has some great muzzle devices. All are similarish in price.

It sounds like you've made your choice with your muzzle devices then, I haven't heard bad things about the Griffin and I think you'll be happy with it. You should get around the same performance as my almost 8" Optimus from the Explorr and you'll be right at hearing safe (Muzzle) but I don't recall meter data from the ear.

I chose the YHM resonator for price and performance reviews. Still waiting a year in though. Resonator + Adjustable gas in semi auto stuff really seemed like what I wanted.
