Except the ATF has pretty much shut down everyone selling kits like yours shown above. If you mention using a kit these days on a form 1 it is an automatic disproval. Can only form 1 if you're machining yourself from scratch and from what I've heard it's even a pain in the ass to get those forms approved these days.

Anyone have 5.56 AR muzzle device preferences for Surefire cans?

Looking at the SF A2, 3 prong or closed tine.

    Same crap everyone else got
There is a solid argument from Jay (Pew Science) on how the jet impingement erosion leaves a very distinct shape on the blast baffle when using a 3 prong which will cause faster erosion. So he believes something like a closed tine helps to mitigate that. There is also the argument that using a brake is better b/c the brake acts as a semi sacrificial first baffle to reduce wear on the can in the long run.

Now will most of use shoot enough for any of this to matter? Probably not. So run what you like haha.

I don't shoot a whole lot, maybe at most a couple thousand rounds per year, spread out over multiple guns. I can honestly say, I have seen wear on the blast baffles while using a can, so if you can stand the noise when not shooting suppressed, a brake is my preference.

Hearing reports of crazy short times. Quite a few less than 30 days.
Wish my two in jail were one of those.

A few people on the S&W Forum have been getting unreal approval times on Form 4 cans. One dude said he bought 2 as a individual from a SS kiosk. One was approved in 23 hours and the other in 3 days. Someone else got one back in 23 days. Yet others on there are at 6 months and waiting.

I sent my 11th Form 1 off this past Monday, and mailed my prints Tuesday. I think the one I did in December was 10 days.

If you did it as an individual, hell it could be a week or less.

Submitted a 5320.20 for a move and got a reply saying to resubmit with the items separate because they are registered to different trusts. A bit weird because the actual tax stamps list the same trust, I used the same trust each time and I’ve never had an issue on previous moves filing a single 5320.20.

Yep. Getting kinda pissed about these wait times. I’m happy for the people getting 24 turn around times, but my record is clean and there should be no reason I’m still waiting. Not that I can do anything about it.

Single shot trust. Same exact trust they see many times a day. I get that they have to verify the trust as well as the person, but the standardized trust they review many times a day should be a quick verification that name, serial number, etc. are correct.
