    https://www.foxnews.com/sports/antonio-brown-reportedly-asks-pittsburgh-steelers-for-trade

All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown has asked the Pittsburgh Steelers to trade him, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday, as Brown bid farewell to Steelers fans on social media.

"Thank you SteelerNation for a big 9 years," Brown wrote on Twitter. "Time to move on and forward.......... #NewDemands." Brown posted a similar message on Instagram and both posts included a montage of career highlights accompanied by the song, "Do What I Want" by rapper Lil Uzi Vert.

The 30-year-old Brown has been rumored to be unhappy in Pittsburgh since he was benched for the regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals following a practice dispute with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers won the game but missed the playoffs for the first time since 2013.

Earlier Tuesday, Brown was convicted in absentia on a charge of reckless driving in a suburban Pittsburgh court. Brown was charged in November for driving his black sports car over 100 mph in a 45 mph zone. He paid a $426.77 fine. Brown did not attend Tuesday's hearing.

Beyond the reckless driving charge, a lawsuit filed in October alleged that Brown hurled several large pieces of furniture off the 14th-floor balcony of his Florida apartment during an April outburst. The lawsuit claims that one piece of furniture nearly hit a 22-month-old child and his grandfather.

Despite the off-field strife, Brown caught 104 passes for 1,297 yards and a club-record 15 touchdowns in 2018. He has made at least 100 receptions in six consecutive seasons and owns the Steelers single-season record for catches and receiving yards (136 for 1,834 in 2015).

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Brown cannot be traded until March 13, the start of the NFL's league year. ESPN reports that Brown is due a $2.5 million roster bonus on March 17. If he is traded after that date, his cap hit will increase from $21.12 million to $23.62 million. However, ESPN reports that cap hit can be spread over multiple years if Brown is traded after June 1.

    Kaepernick's Lawyer Predicts NFL Return:
    By Reuters

    • Feb. 17, 2019

Now that Colin Kaepernick has settled his collusion grievances with the NFL, the next step is getting him back in the league, his lawyer said Saturday night.

Attorney Mark Geragos told CNN that Kaepernick "absolutely wants to play" and made a pretty bold prediction about when that might happen.

"I think you're going to see ... within the next two weeks that somebody is going to step up and do the right thing, and you want me to predict who?" Geragos asked, per ESPN. "Besides the Panthers, it would not surprise me if Bob Kraft makes a move."

Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, is among the founders of an organization launched last month to seek criminal justice reform.

I was reading in interesting article last night about Odell Beckham Jr, that the Patriots interest in him had led to the Giants giving him a contract. It was interesting because the article was basically stating that Beckham would really be the first player that Belichick had ever been interested in actually paying big $$ for. His entire time with the Patriots his method has been to acquire players on the cheap (as you all know), so it's odd that he'd be willing to tie up a big part of the Patriots salary cap with Beckham.
My take on it is that either:
    1. Belichick is looking for another Randy Moss, a dynamic receiver that can reel in difficult catches on the long ball regardless of coverage. It'd be especially useful because Brady obviously isn't getting any younger or throwing any harder, so a player like Beckham who would draw coverage downfield would mean the Pats could be a lot more flexible with the passing game, either throwing quick short passes or dropping longer ones downfield (Brady's biggest weakness, traditionally, except for during the Randy Moss era)
    2. Belichick was just screwing with the Giants, isn't interested in giving Beckham a big payday, and was just looking to troll the Giants into tying up a large chunk of their salary cap by giving Beckham a big contract. This one seems more likely, honestly, given his history with player acquisitions.
Thoughts? Granted, Beckham's numbers have been pretty damn good, especially when you consider that he's been catching passes from the panicky bipolar gunslinger that is recent-season Eli Manning. But his personality doesn't seem like it'd fit in with the Patriots "shut up and work" mentality, unless he's just that way due to frustration at being an outstanding player trapped in a mediocre organization. Maybe if he was spending more time in the post season he'd be more receptive to the so-called "Patriot Way"
