    Yep this is the exact truth.

    Not to mention the physical and emotional toll on the person as you’re consistently rehabbing this and recovering from that during and after the season. Hell I had knee surgery during high school football and the amount of work I had to do to heal my knee keep it healthy was insane. Can’t imagine how much work it takes to keep your body at peak condition in the pros.

    Plus I mean, a torn abdominal, lacerated kidney, shoulder surgery, plus who knows how many other minor strains, sprains, etc. in the 6 seasons or whatever he's been in the league. With his O-Line over the years he's really gotten beat up, spending a lot of time taking hits. Smart of him to quit while he can still function, really.

    Yep, but Gronk had the disadvantage of not being a QB thrown in on top of it. As soon as people realized that tackling him up high just meant going for a Nantucket Sleigh Ride they started wrecking his knees & ankles.
