Way too close against a 3-4-1 team. Now 3-5-1. Cards D-line did well against the run. And too many dropped balls by SF receivers. Well, maybe not too many, just critical ones.

8-0. And the teams they play get tougher. Lotta things to work on. Was impressed with Jimmy G for a change. He played very well.

The only way Jimmy G would have a chance to shine is if they got pushed like this, but shine he did.
It's definitely the softest the D has played so far and then running game wasn't as strong. Drake certainly added to the Cardinals offense. Even so it's 5 straight with 3 or more sacks.

Agreed. They had zero ‘time outs’ at the 6:00 minute mark 4th quarter!?!

Amazing how teams just throw these games away. Home games at that.

Congrats to Stephon Gilmore, AFC Defensive Player of the month:thumbsup::benchpress:

And a belated congrats to Devin McCourty for September.

No doubt. The defense was in sleepwalk mode. I was sweating that game out. A classic case of taking an opponent too lightly.

I disagree. Cards are a better team than people give them credit for. Kingsbury actually called a really good game - a lot of misdirection and zone read that SF hasn’t seen all year, and not to mention the no huddle which prevented the Niners from subbing their DL in/out (something they count on every game to keep everyone fresh). On top of that, their best LB Kwon Alexander was out with a pec injury. A huge drop off when he is out of the game, similar to the first game against TB when he got ejected.

At the same time, didn’t like the play call to play man on that long TD pass. The Niners were up and the Cards were pinned back. You gottta keep everything in front of you. That’s why Sherm was so upset after that play
