I think it's both. True, he's a butt boy for Jerry, but I think he's a bad coach too. Jones wont fire himself, so the Cowboy circus rolls along. Jerry's ego is just too large to admit he sucks as a General Manager.

Wow, it just occurred to me that by the chart posted on generations, both my parents were the "silent generation". That seems shocking to me.

    Amazing huh?!?

I was watching a documentary on the 8th Army Air Force flying missions over Europe during WWII. It hadn’t struck me before but all the guys interviewed were born in the 1920s. Crazy how sometimes new connections can blow us away...

Stands to reason guys born in the twentys are going to be twenty years old in the 40s, during those WWII years. Interestingly enough, the average age of soldiers in WWII was 26. I repeat, average age. After Pearl Harbor guys were rushing to enlist. 14 to 40 years old, guys were signing up. There are tons of good books out there on the topic of what is termed The Greatest Generation, but currently, I'm reading "Patton: Ordeal and Triumph" by Ladislas Farago. I highly recommend this book. Incredible insight into one of the greatest generals in our nations history. Got this copy off Amazon used for $3.50, written in 1965.

Yeah, part of me knew that but it took me by surprise when I saw it. (That’s what I was trying to get across in my post.)

Thanks for the book recommendation . Good stuff for sure!

Sociologist come up with that shit. There is a reason most of us say they aren't real science. Their GRE scores in methodology for grad school entrance are always at the bottom and wouldn't get them into any other grad school. Exhibit A who the hell starts with the letter X in a linear progression like Generations (Gen X)? Most people are aware the alphabet is going to run out of letters pretty soon. Most other people anyways.

No problem knowing which Gen I fall into. Tomorrow will be 78 years since Peal Harbor was bombed by the Japanese and we entered WW2. 36 years after the attack I went active duty in the Navy and retired 22 years ago. Which makes it 42 years ago that I went active duty. But I am not farting dust, yet.

You called? Only since the mid 60's.

In the mid 60's played small fry football and was watching football on TV with my father on a Sunday afternoon. Black and White TV. I had finally understood the team vs. team concept and asked him which team was ours. He said Buffalo was the nearest team so they were ours. He also said they were new and not very good. But still they were our team. Been my team ever since and still are.

Full disclosure. I did chicken wings on the kettle 3 times since NFL season started, hunting birds overlaps so missed more than a few. The 3 times I did wings this year during Bills games the Bills lost. I will not be starting my wings until ~3:15 CST on Sunday.

 For that price, you're gonna think it's good even if it's simulated cheese on cardboard.

I got that. Sorry if it appeared as if I was bashing you. Not my intention. I'm no expert, but have long been interested in history, and have read much on the topic.

I think it’s from Sal’s Pizza, a chain in the Boston, North shore and Southern NH areas.

Good pizza if you’re in the area:thumbsup:
