LOL, one of my wife's friends husbands comes walking into my garage last weekend when a buddy and I were working on his car drinking a white claw with the remainder of the pack or case or whatever they come in. I just pointed and said "nope, get the fuck out. Use the front door, women are inside". My wife comes out 10 min later and called me a dick.

Lame, weak jealousy. If coaches and players thought this way they'd never be winners, or even in the league. Teams that are good now got better because that's what it takes to compete, not whining about the past. The game is much better for it.

Yes, cheating always raises the level of competition.

Stuck in a rotten place with nothing to eat but sour grapes. Best stay away from your favorite team to avoid infecting them with such nonsense.

Edit- And yes, its called ovecoming adversity rather than whining about it. Whether it's amphetamines, steroids, hgh, pain killers, or peeping through fences at the practice facility it's been around and some teams/players have sought an edge to succeed where other do it with talent and hard work and sometimes a bit of that edge too. Passing judgement from afar saying only this team is guilty and no others is just as ludicrous as saying all are guilty or none are guilty. If you're going to cry "taint" better choose another sport like baseball, cycling, or gymnastics where the participants are always so much more honest. They won and you lost repeatedly. Rules change and they still won and you lost, repeatedly. Unless you're a fucking idiot you'd have to conclude that they were better at it than your team. They're not anymore because other teams got better while they got older.

You're just suffering from the same problem most of the NFL fans out there are; their teams have mostly spent the last two decades losing to New England, so any possibility of cheating is a 'guilty' verdict that vindicates 'their' team's relatively poor play. 99% of people crowing about the Patriots being cheaters is just sour grapes and not actual concern about the integrity of the game.

So anyway, does anybody think that any of the teams out there will pick up Jason Garrett now that he's untethered??

Most of those same fans were there when the Patriots really sucked. They just had little to speak up about.

As I mentioned earlier, just because Goodell decides to fine and punish a team or individual, that does not mean they are guilty. And doing something wrong does not mean you cheated and gained a competitive advantage. The facts are all there if you want to read them. It is just much easier to buy into the narrative that the Patriots success could have never been earned. And finally, even if there was an advantage gained by the "cheating", the wins necessary for two of those titles happened AFTER the "cheating" was exposed and the NFL was watching closely to make sure there was no more advantage being gained.

@Noelie84 answered your phone comment very well two quotes below. Keep in mind a Federal judge from New York trashed the argument the NFL used but the trial was only about if the NFL had the right to punish Brady however they saw fit. The NFL did not allow anyone to actually argue if their findings were accurate or not. If they had, they would have lost. If there was never any deflated balls and therefore no violation, then why does there need to be a punishment?

You don't have to wonder, the facts are out there if you want to find them. The net result is 9 Super Bowls, with a 6-3 record. Again, the what was videotaped in Spygate was legal then and still is now. Where it was recorded from was not, IF THE FOOTAGE WAS USED DURING THE SAME GAME, which it was not. Goodell did not like Belichick following the letter of the rule instead of the memo he sent so he hammered him down.

    Exactly!

I have addressed the two "scandals". Even if I were to concede that those two titles were somehow tainted then how does that affect the other 4? And, once again, those two titles were won with victories AFTER the "scandals" broke and the NFL had the Patriots under intense scrutiny. If they had been getting away with something before there was no way they would be after the NFL was paying attention. And personally, I could give a rats ass about steroids back in the day. I am sure most every other team was using the same competitive advantage as well.

I fully agree that it will be difficult for many fans to adjust assuming the Patriots become an average team again. Personally, it is professional sports to me. There is always next year. Many things in my life are more important than the NFL and the Patriots.

    Thanks all for listening....

I don't know; I hadn't seen it. I know that they had picked up the Pats special teams coach, but hadn't read past that.

Next head coach for the Niners, maybe...

I just read too many opinions. I just wanted to put out a few facts as they so often get overlooked. I have no problem admitting when the Patriots do something wrong, or make a mistake. Personally, I screw up in some way every day, and I admit it. Should Belichick have adhered to the memo the NFL sent out and not been so arrogant in adhering to the letter of the rule. Absolutely. For a man lauded for his brilliance as a coach it is unusual for him to make such a mistake. But I suspect to him he had more important things to worry about then some "inconsequential" rule. Until it became a big deal then it was too late. So that decision is on him, or someone in the organization. But the buck stops with him and he and the Patriots paid the price. But it is hard to call it cheating to gain an advantage when the information that was gathered was not illegal by itself, and is still not illegal to this day. You can be guilty of not following the letter of a rule without gaining a competitive on field advantage. But if you look at it that way then you can't claim that the Patriots won their games by what they accomplished on the field and that does not fit the narrative that most fans in the NFL want to have.

Why is it pats fans feel everyone else is simply not educated enough to have an opinion that differs from there own? I know the information you are throwing out. I am of a difference of opinion, no need to continue beating me over the head with your point of view. My stance will not change.

I admit I will miss Brady. However, I come to bury Brady, not to praise him.
