    The Jets are on the hook for 5.5 million of Bell's contract for this year. He would have to pay back any amount that he gets from another team. So if he signs for a million this year. The Jets woul only pay him 4.5 this year.

    It doesn’t matter what the Jets did or didn’t do, but you have a tendency to want to get back at an ex when things don’t work out.

    At any rate, the smart thing for Bell to do is sign for the min because it allows him more options and still has the Jets pay the most.
