I don't think either are getting that much. I would pick up Ryan Fitzpatrick as a back up and try to get a veteran who can fit into the system. Garapolo will likely be available, but he has problems staying on the field.

 

At the moment, it sounds like the Patriots are really eyeing a Jimmy G return. Obviously, Stafford and Watson is out there but you will have to give up a lot for them especially Watson. Watson sounds like he wants to play for either Miami or NY anyways so I dont think he will play for New England. Other possibilities is Fitzpatrick, which you already mentioned, Teddy Bridgewater, Mariota and Tua Tagovailao (IF Miami score Watson). They may draft another QB but I dont think who ever the select will be ready for next year. Cam could also return. If they, actually get some talent at wide receiver (like Will Fuller, Allen Robinson, JuJu Smith-Schuster) and another year in the system, he could possibly do well.

Options are out there though, so lets see what BB does with free agency and draft in other positions that they need to upgrade. They have plenty of cap room.

 

I don't know that Watson is an upgrade over Tua. Maybe, but I'd have to see it. I know that Belichick liked Garapolo a lot, but his injury history would concern me if I were the coach. Unless they trade up, they aren't going to get one of the really good QB candidates that will be in the draft.

I don't see Cam as viable because his arm is questionable.

We'll know more in a few months, I guess.

 

Yeah Jimmy G makes me nervous about his durability. Watson is definitely more proven than Tua and will command a ton. Tua does have upside though.

 

Pats should go all in on Watson or trade for a lower pick.

neither will happen and we’re destined to have another losing season with Cam Newton and cracker jack box WR’s.

 

Watson at least is more a known quantity versus Tua in the pros..I don't watch college ball so I may be wrong on this one though.

At this point JG could be more a liability given his injury history and what it will cost to bring him.

Doubt they trade up but it's possible.

Never saw Cam as elite or even a stud personally

 

Cam all hes good for right now is goal line plays

 

Matthew Stafford is the best passer available. He’s just a natural at throwing the football.

 

I think the football gods are gonna call in their chips- the Pats will be doomed at the QB position for the next 20 years...

 

Sad thing is Pats need more pieces than just a new GOAT. I'd like to see Watson with the right supporting cast but Pats have a LOT of work to do on multiple fronts.

Might be a good time to just start over up there starting with Belichik.

Lions fans will miss him, but he deserves far better. It's like watching Justin Verlander leave the Tigers all over again. Bittersweet, but he deserves a better team.

 

As a Cards fan I am not excited to see him in the NFC West now, was really hoping he would go to Indy.

 

Hopefully he can get a ring or two after all the BS he's had to endure in Detroit.

 

As a Titans fan, happy Stafford didn't land in Indy. The Titans fuck up there seasons damn well and good enough on their own.

 

The Pats definitely need to revamp quite a few positions but can't give up on Belichick yet. Need to see what he can do in the next few years.

 

Good for Stafford. I hope he sees better success there. That will put Goff on the market now.

Yeah definitely! Stafford > Goff any day. The Rams will be even more dangerous next year too.
