    Fun note on something we were discussing over the weekend here.

    14 playoff teams, 8 have Qb on rookie contract or 5th year option, 9 if you count 49ers, Seattle pays geno slightly less than a 1st round rookie. That leaves 4 teams that paid their qb, only chiefs and cowboys remain. Big money Qb seems to make it more difficult to win it all.

    I wouldn’t count the Niners because Jimmy is under contract and could still play but it’s true that those contracts limit the cap space available to sign other players even when they can’t play like Lamar and that could be enough to send a team packing. It’s also true that there just aren’t that many top quarterbacks that have hit their payday. That will change as rookie deals expire. Some of it is also due to not all front offices being equal. Bad trades, bad contracts, bad coaching staff’s all affect whether or not that QB contract gets surrounded by talent and whether that talent translates to wins.

    I agree on 49ers, though their intention was to be using a young cheap Qb, and Jimmy is only taking up 7% of the cap. So they are closer to the young inexpensive Qb contract side.

    I think On 90% of the pass plays the receivers were doing something different than what Brady was anticipating. This lack of connection is inexcusable with the talents they have at the receiving corps. I guess they just can’t read a defence
