Absolute nonsense. They called KC with penalties that took a TD off the board, another that took KC out of FG range, that ‘do-over’ was a whistle nobody could hear but happened. KC punted a few plays later anyway. Equal penalty yards before that last legitimate critical penalty. Oh, and Cincy won last year in OT, would have been easy to flip that to KC with one call if the NFL wanted to fix it.

 

Agreed. It's tough to win without a Quarterback. I was looking forward to seeing how young Brock would do in a major game myself, but The Niners really seem to have issues protecting their QB's. Our defense didn't exactly shine in that game either.

SF has some decisions to make this off-season. No way Lance, Jimmy, and Brock all come back. Glad we have our franchise QB now because we had a long history of taking 49ers cast-offs as our starters (Steve DeBerg, old Joe Montana, Steve Bono, Elvis Grbac, Alex Smith). Then again, those guys did account for all 4 of our playoff wins between 1970-2017.

 

Often injured but handsome sumbitch Jimmy definitely has to go. Lance needs a lot more development. I think we have a QB in Brock if our O line can keep him upright.

Be nice if the refs simply allowed the better teams to win without the help. It casts a shadow on the league the way these games get so one sided. Even the commentators were mentioning it about the pi calls not made against the Chiefs and then made against the Bengals to keep drives going.

 

Lance was injured as well last year. Losing 3 other QB’s in one season should be an indication it’s not a Jimmy problem but an O-line problem. Running for your life tends to end badly more often than not. Purdy’s elbow stinger was fluky bad luck but McGlinchy whiffed on more plays than just that one and the right side was never able to manage the pocket for even a minimal time.
