I’ve said this for years. It’s unbelievable that they allowed Peyton to continue coaching after they uncovered all that shit. Dude should have been black listed from every sports league in the country

 

There’s valid criticism over gutting the game or however you want to put it but good tackling isn’t flag football. You can still drive on the ball without aiming at the head which is how you end up with facemasks and horse collars or guys wrapping up a player by the helmet (still legal). I have a problem with “half the distance” being applied to PF’s which are by definition egregious penalties. The full yardage should apply both on defense and offense. Maybe you place at the 1yd line rather than awarding a TD or safety automatically but reducing a pf to the same consequence as a 5 yd penalty ignores the egregious nature of the foul. Inside the 30, 15 yds, inside the 16, place it at the 1. That goes for both offensive and defensive penalties. The replay booth can be tasked with whether or not to award pts one way or the other just as replay is used to decide flagrant 1 or 2 in basketball along the lines of unabated to the rim calls. A personal foul should never be anywhere on the list of choices, let alone be a preferred one. It’ll happen regardless but the penalty shouldn’t be lessened by where it occurs. Nor at what point in the game. Everything from time outs(penalty box) to ejection should be considered. That business a few years ago with a player being dragged by Kittle’s face mask for 15 yards while 2 other players were also trying to bring him down legally was a bad look that was beyond egregious and the kind of play that should merit ejection. There grabbing and letting go, grabbing and hanging on, and grabbing and hanging on for dear life. If the foul escalates, so should the penalty.

 

Or if it’s inside the 15 and you can’t hit them with the full penalty, play it like if someone gets a penalty in the end zone. Other team is awarded with a safety and free kick

 

Last Saturday at my local HS game. Some guy yelled out put him in a body bag. Being an 80s kid I kind of chuckled at the Karate Kid reference. The Qbs mom went directly to the Athletic Director and had him kicked out. I guess I am insensitive in today's world. OfCourse, I wish no harm on anyone but to me it was kind of funny. Two players on the team, work for me in the summer and we have such a good time talking trash. So, after the first day of practice the whole team was on board quoting player and movies. Such as I am going to put the fear of God in you, Boy. As well as my favorite Dion Sanders quote. You ever see a cheetah stretch before making a kill. I did not know player x was that fast until I watched him play tennis by himself.

 

I knew it might not be a pretty year but it is kicking me much harder than I expected it to. The Pack is hurting my soul.

 

Hopefully by the end of the season we start to see some improvement.

 

I'm hopeful we will. The roster is just so young. Doubs has been fun to watch Reed and Musgrave look promising. If Watson can just get healthy and stay healthy. I love Jones and Dillon but don't exactly know what to make of the RB room. Those guys are Packers in their hearts though. I browsed the Wisconsin thread a little but is there a crew of Tacoma/Packer fan overlap within the forum?

 

That leap for the int was pretty exceptional otherwise it’s a different conversation. Receiver got played instead of being the player. It was one sided.

 

It was touch and go for my Chargers last weekend, but they managed to squeak it out. I have faith in them this Sunday when the face the 2 1/2 point favored Cowboys...... The Chargers had a bye week by the way, but it was still close.

 

Ugly, 11 possessions, 9 into Denver territory, 5 into the red-zone, and only 1 touchdown. But it’s a win, and 16 straight against the Broncos (last loss was when Peyton Manning was the QB). Chiefs are 5-1 but have a long way to go if they are going to be playing in February.

 

Despite the ugly win tonight, that’s Mahomes 100th start. Where does he rank among QB’s in their first 100 starts? #1 in wins, #1 in completions, #1 in yards, #1 in touchdowns and #1 in QB rating. And of the 50 winningest QB’s in their first 100 games only 9 have thrown fewer interceptions.

 

Between Mahomes, Kelce and TSwift I can’t handle that team anymore. Publicity overload

 

They seem to play to the level of the competition which can be viewed either positively or not. Bottom line they win but they often make it look harder than it should for a perennial playoff team. He’s one of the best, where he ends up will depend on what they’ve accomplished when he hangs up the tape and cleats. Montana is well down the list of TD/picks overall at #28 but threw none in his 4 SB wins vs 0 losses.

 

I’m with you on the TSwift overload. Don’t hate her but don’t care either. The local news has gone nuts. They even had a segment interviewing a real estate pro asking then what high end homes are on the market in case she wanted to buy a house here. WTH! I do like the commercials with the Kelce brothers and their mom. Not tired of them yet.

 

Never win shit on DK aside from the occasional $10 or so. Woke up to a good surprise this morning. Went to bed last night around halftime winning $10

 

Always a big Montana fan in the 80’s, and I was a Chief’s season ticket holder his 2 years here. KC only won 4 playoff games in the 47 years between the league merger and Mahomes arrival. 2 of those 4 were the year Montana took us to our only AFC title appearance in that near half century of playoff futility. Joe Cool is on my Mount Rushmore of QB’s. Patrick is certainly on pace to be there someday as well. We will see.

 

I hear you. It seems Mahomes is on every other commercial on TV. I don't see them winning it all this year with their just good enough to win play.

What incentive does he have to play? Fully guaranteed contract, he gets paid no matter what.

 

He probably didn’t miss how they treated Baker during his injury and after. Damned if you sit out, slammed if you don’t. If this were a habit the criticism would be valid but otherwise it’s just noise.
