NFL Trash Talkers Thread

Supposed to shoot heated 5 stand Saturday I joined the winter league again this year. Nope not going to happen. All weekend my mind will be someplace else. Going to be a long week and weekend until Sunday evening. The game is going to be a good one... Lot of family and friends will be there. I will be sitting in my living room watching it half the Country away. I do have an excuse for not being there in person. (thank gawd, at my age I'm too old for that crap!)

 

Think Jerry is going to fire Mccarthy? Dak gone too? Hmm.

 

First place in my playoff fantasy league, only lost Puka who I thought would only play one game and scored me a lot of points and no kicker for the rest of the season, Cowboys choked again I just wanted 2 games outta him if you get a chance to play in a league do it! It's fun as no adds, drops or trades so need to draft guys that will both score a lot of points and go far in the playoffs.

 

Played in the work league for the first time this year. We used ESPNs fantasy app. Didn't make it to the playoffs. Will try to have a better plan for the draft next year for sure. It was fun though.

 

I went 13-1 in my company league. Literally didn’t lose until the Super Bowl

Also think the AFC north is going to go 0-3 in the playoffs this year. As everyone is hot on the Ravens being the favorites but they are playoff chokers. I remember the same deal happening when they lost to the Titans a few years ago. Lamar is 1-3 in the playoffs with a 48 QBR. Also don't think a good team goes 0-2 against the Steelers this year.

 

They should name it Frostbite Falls.

 

Well, the Ravens rested their starters the 2nd Steelers game. I’m cheering for the Texans obviously (as a Chiefs upset would then bring a 6th straight title game to Arrowhead). But I think the Ravens win this one.

 

I think the Texans will do it. As we just saw them tear up the Browns "number 1 defense." Plus put up some points and make Lamar throw the ball all game and he will fold. Lamar is 11th or so in passing yards even though he will probably win the MVP.

 

Chiefs have a huge advantage from playing Saturday and Bills playing Monday.

 

Last meeting the Bills were coming off their bye and we almost won.

 

They have a culture problem that flows downhill from the owner and shows in how the players respond to adversity.

 

And the lack of a general manager will scare away any halfway decent coach

 

Guess you had some “in the know” info. Just didn’t imagine that possibility I guess. Surprised they haven’t hired yet but I guess you have to interview more before you make it final.

 

Frostbite Falls is already taken, Rocky and Bullwinkle live there This time of year my family in WNY tell me they have no idea how I can live in such cold here in Mn. We get snow here but not like WNY.

One of the creators of Rocky and Bullwinkle was from Ca. and growing up TV hadn't been invented yet so everyone listened to radio. Somehow he became a fan of the Minnesota Golden Gophers football team and he was always fascinated by a place in Mn. named International Falls being mentioned on the radio as the icebox and coldest place in the US. One of his favorite players for the Gophers was Bronko Nagurski who went on to play for the Chicago Bears.

International Falls was the inspiration for the show and he changed the name to Frostbite Falls. And now you know the Rest of the Story, as Paul Harvey used to say.

I cross into Canada at the Falls each year to bird hunt the Sunset Country of NW Ontario. Then come back down and hit the Trans Canada highway over to Thunder Bay to go back into the US and hunt the tip of the Mn. Arrowhead for most of October.

 

Always liked watching Moose and Squirrel rooting for Whatsamatta U.

 

As did the Superdome in NO. You'd have to be daffy to build a dome in a place getting the kind of snow Buffalo gets.

Love doing those but how do coaches score?

3rd in my 10 team league. 8th in my 12 team. George Kittle hosed me every week as I had him in the 12 tm. Both big losses in the 10 tm were to the guy with Kittle who went off each time he played me, and again in playoffs.

Looks like it's by point differential for the games and coaches can only score a max of 5 points for beating the other team by 11+. So kinda useless but the wonkyness of the league makes it fun.

 

As long as Jerry is owner, general manager, and El Presidente for life, I think the Cowboys will have issues. His ego is too big to hire a real GM without meddling in every decision.
