I’d say more like rewarding/recognizing a year of accomplishment and getting together to goof off. I’d call it clowning around instead of being made into a clown.

 

Ehh I doubt they feel like it’s demeaning. It’s like the last day of school every year where you get to goof off and play games outside with the whole grade (assuming this is universal and wasn’t just my school)

 

Third DWI is a felony in Texas too. They are going to have to shell out some serious dough to keep him from prison time

WTH, the day before they leave for the SB. 3 years ago, the day before the flight to the Tampa Bay Super Bowl, Andy’s son hit someone while intoxicated (he’s in prison now for it). Glad this time nobody is hurt. I have no patience or sympathy for drunk driving.

Lots of jumping to conclusions. You can’t solve alcoholism just by throwing money at it. Or a driver. Patrick Sr getting into trouble doesn’t necessarily mean anything in regards to his relationship with or support from his son.

 

No, not entirely but money will get you a top tier treatment program

 

Agree. If money solved the problem wealthy people wouldn’t have alcohol problems.

I guess I could craft a story where Patrick Jr keeps begging his dad to accept his offers to send him to an excellent rehab facility, except like everyone else in the thread I’m not part of the Mahomes personal circle and know nothing about the family circumstances.

Maybe dad has been to rehab, and it was kept quiet. Alcoholism is not an easy beast to slay.

 

While this is my opinion, so take it for exactly that.

someone that doesn’t have a problem with alcohol doesn’t end up with more than one DWI. Meaning by number 3, that’s a pretty good indication that you either have a problem, or you’ve got a major processing disorder

 

I wasn’t disputing that there’s an alcohol problem. What was said was that this DUI indicates family dysfunction and that Patrick Jr isn’t properly supporting his dad. That conclusion can’t be drawn from dad getting a DUI.
