I would normally use the “Correct” gif of a certain politician, but I need to be careful. I got banned days before the last Super Bowl because I never read the rules.

It is early...but, what else have we got to do but wait...

I'm a firm believer to take reasonable chances in the first half...for a team to do the unexpected on offense.

Predictability is what the other team is anticipating...they've watched enough film.

That's the best time to introduce players who aren't utilized as often.

Set up blocking schemes that prevent swarming defenders by spreading the offense.

I notice bunching on the line of scrimmage with these teams...lots of blockers for inside runs & screen passes.

QB needs to narrow his search for seeking receivers...quick and decisive...and accurate.

Quick/decisive includes knowing when to run...being aware not to pass beyond the line of scrimmage.

    That's just offense! lol

I think of 1983 & SB XVIII where the Raiders Defense shut down Joe Theismann and the Hogs Offense.

    Oh, those memories...lol

We used mostly zone coverage early in the season with good effect against teams unable to sustain drives and pick it apart. They’d get 3, we’d get 7. As the pressure mounted to throw we’d mix in more man and blitz to increase the pressure and get turnovers. It was a safe defense and paired with a strong, balanced offense that could sustain drives and convert in the red zone it led to a number of blowout wins. It didn’t work against Cousins who picked us apart even though we got pressure and didn’t work when teams could run enough to sustain drives and convert 3rd downs and didn’t work when we couldn’t get pressure. The last time it worked really well was against the Eagles. Since then teams are generally over their early season inconsistencies making “safer, less risky” zone coverage also less effective. Ball’s out quicker so rush doesn’t get home and sack #’s go down. By nature Kyle’s not a avid risk taker, he wants the play to work and the qb to follow the script but that doesn’t work nearly as well when the other teams no longer screw up and have to punt on offense or start messing up the script with their defense.
KC will shred zone if we don’t mix it up and Mahomes will run chunks when we turn our backs and play man on key downs. We can’t be passive and allow KC to dictate the flow of the game, that’s what Detroit did to start the game and Reid would love nothing better.
    Stop the run.
Hit Kelce at the line HARD on every play. Force him to work his way into his pattern the whole game.
Make Mahomes put on the cape and wear it all day, not just key moments.
Take the gloves off and call a game to beat the best team left not the teams that fell by the wayside. I don’t want to see anything but our best this time around.
Not arrogance but humility and hard work.

9ers win it easy imo ...rematch of 2020 but this time they have a better team both O and D while the chiefs are way worse on offense.

Wishful thinking. With 2 weeks prep Reid is as good as they come and KC was already right behind the Ravens as a top defense. Nothing less than our A-game will suffice for this one. Their “offense” has always centered on Mahomes, and like it or not he’s the best there is now. He needs longevity to make any other case but his ability can’t be in question. We have to make it HARD and that won’t be easy.

KC “has” to win so Kelsey can propose to Taylor in front of everyone when it’s over.

It’s all about the ratings :anonymous:

Kelsey should be confident he's going to win and propose at half time.

Yep. Half-baked defense isn't going to cut it. And let's hope golden toe Moody isn't in shank kick mode.

Looks like no HC job for Belichick this year, wonder if he even interviewed anywhere but Atlanta?

Thinking not, I'm sure they'd have fussed about it on the local news if so

It’s weird because you think he would want a job. What he is like 15 wins away from being the winningest couch in the nfl

That plus I think he lives to work in general. NOt sure if nobody else contacted him or if he didn't pursue something etc

I’m sure he got other offers but like Sean Peyton, he isn’t gonna take a job for a team that doesn’t have potential in the next couple of seasons

My prediction: Bill sits out a year, McCarthy is fired if he doesn’t reach the NFC Title game, Jerry hires Bill and after 2 years they have a big argument and he either resigns or gets fired, and they never speak to each other again. Maybe 3 years, long enough to beat Shula’s wins.
