I heard Mayo is the first Pats rookie coach since McPhearson to win his first game. I’m hoping a repeat of the McP era isn’t in the making

I went into the game with a 6 point lead. I had Aiyuk, he had Kittle. Squeaked it out!!!

 

I had Kittle vs Aiyuk, Deebo, and the Jets WR (not Lazard) nursing a small lead. Ended up tied at 122. Funny part is the next best score was 107

 

Since signing a $160 million contract, Daniel Jones has thrown more TD passes to the opposition than his own receivers.

 

So this means CMC isn’t really all that great since any nobody can come in and do the job. Riiiight.

 

I had the same thought.
But we really know CMC is pretty awesome. He just plays so hard he never makes it thru a season in one piece. Looks like the 49ers have a guy (#24 Jordan Mason) that can mimic him about 80 percent, so that's a big plus for them.

 

Dallas is doomed. Jerry gave Dak his budget busting contract ($240 mil for 4 years; with $231 guaranteed) insuring they will flop this season...again.

I thought Jerry was being smart letting Dak play out his contract as a way to light a fire in him; to get him to show the world he deserved big money. These guys (other than Mahomie) all seem to crap the bed after getting their big money deals. Skeptical? Still early yet. But if Steelers stay healthy, and play "smart," they can clinch the AFC North. Make the playoffs.

 

Steelers in the playoffs? My wife would be over the moon. Defense looked good. Offense looked just a touch better than last year. Add in the fact that Cincinnati and Cleveland looked bad, so a definite maybe.

But I'm not betting on it. Russell Wilson is injured & will be nursing this calf issue all year. Justin Fields will eventually get injured trying to run out of the pocket & do it all himself, a la Cam Newton & Lamar Jackson. Leaving...who? (I had to google it!) Kyle Allen. The former back-up of Buffalo, where he was a respectable back-up to Josh Allen. So...maybe?

A long shot to be sure. Pickens is going to have to be a better blocker at times and a lot less selfish for them to have any chance.

 

You stay over analyze with
everything. Not long shot. Steelers made playoffs last season, even if was 7 seed, at least got in. About Game 1, 2024 NFL season a win, is a win. Even with field goals, for Steelers.

So THREE GUYS are top 10 rated and top 10 in pay.

Seems like a lot (seven) of over-paid, over-hyped QBs not earning that big dollar contract. Probably normal every season but now that we are at the $60 million per year mark, it seems like something's gotta give. A 'market adjustment' as teams figure out ways to win without going all in on a high dollar QB.
