Brees is 6' and Brooks is 6'3". Stop watching ESPN for your faux sports news.

It was a clean hit, that whole thing is bullshit, it's the league floundering and trying to figure out a new paradigm on how to call these hits. I'm not bitching really as a niner fan, it goes both ways, you win some and you lose some, but it's questionable calls that fuck up games that piss me off as a football fan, not just a niner fan.

well, Brooks had all the time in the world to hit Brees, he could have purposely hit him lower to avoid the call is all im saying. It's like having 2 strikes in baseball, why would you make the call close? if you dont want a call, get low and drive him.

me and you feel the same way this week! I was even hoping to see Kaep win that game, i dont want to see him turn into the next Tebow...

He also has a little more "escapability" than Brees. Either way, the NFL has been pussified.

eh, I agree and dont agree. dont want people retiring and looking like muhammad ali, they are playing a sport, not kicking the shit out of eachother. It's not really fun watching guys get TKO'd like you're playing mortal kombat with your buddy... there are ways to tackle, and block, without killing someone. Brett Favre was on TV the other day saying he was glad he didnt have a boy because he wouldnt want him to go in the NFL and become fucked up like he is.

    .
The other thing about that hit is the fine, 16,500???? Really? Hell guys get fined that much for wearing the wrong color shoes, is that supposed to deter Brooks from laying a hit on wilson or peyton or brady or anyone else for that matter? Would any of these QB's pick themselves up off the turf and cry that it was a dirty hit? Fuck no, it's part of the game, you hold onto the rock long enough, somebody is gonna smack you really hard.

    ^^^ football into stands?

    Can someone elaborate into this?

I see it as throwing the ball purposely into the crowd on a throw to avoid getting sacked?

Or does it still apply if a player gives the ball to someone in the stands after a touchdown celebration?

I've always thought the horse collar tackle and spearing are about the worst thing a guy can do. Receivers just need to get "alligator arms" and protect themselves when the qb throws a pass that will kill them.
