    Well this loss hurt for sure. Seems the backup QB for the Cowboys is too dang scared half the time, and can't get good communication going either. Took a big hit in the standings with this one. I'll hope for a good game next week in London. Because of this game, and the Eagles beating Houston, the Boys will HAVE to win the Thanksgiving game against the Eagles.

    The BRETTE FAVRE FACTOR...
    It astounds me that more NFL fans and experts have not realized the downward spiral Favre created for Minnesota and the NY Jets. Both those teams could have started a rebuilding process at the time but instead signed him and neither franchise has yet to recover.

    The Vikings almost made it to the SB with Favre. They wouldn't have even won 10 games with Jackson in '09.

    Signing Favre was a bad move for the Jets, but Favre only spent one year there and the Jets have had success since then ('09 & '10). Their current troubles are not because of Favre.

    You and I have different definitions of the word success concerning the NFL. There is only one successful team per year in the NFL and it has never been Minnesota and once for the Jets with Namath as the QB.

    The Vikings have never won a SB, so does that mean that every FA signing they've ever made was a bad move? I guess the Dolphins made the wrong choice by drafting and signing Dan Marino. Miami didn't win a SB with him.

    The Vikings have a playoff appearance since Favre's departure. He was only there for two years. You can't blame him for what is happening today.

    Btw, a SB trophy is a crapshoot among the top several teams in the NFL. The Vikings were definitely a top team that year. They were SB caliber.

    Apples and oranges... You are comparing a draft pick Dan Marino to a past his prime free agent signing Favre. Making the playoffs means nothing if you cant win the SB. That is the goal a SB WIN. nothing else matters. As I recall Favre won a SB with Green Bay I while in his prime, Marino went to one SB Early in his career and lost having his entire career in front of him.
    How can you say they were SB caliber having failed to make it there?

    P.S. which QB did the Vikings fail to draft and/or develop during Favre's tenure? They didn't have an Aaron Rodgers on the bench.
