Mike Holmgren on KJR AM in Seattle this morning:

"I was offered a couple NFL head coaching jobs in the last two weeks and declined. I was honestly interested in SF but they didn't want me"

There is not a better candidate to come into SF and fix Kaepernick and the whole offense. I can't believe they weren't interested... wow.

York is going to fuck this whole thing up.

Yeah I heard that too. Not surprised though. Holmgren is a WC offense based HC, and not sure if that fits the style of the current 49er players, especially Kaep. There are other coaches that can come in and help Kaep (Kubiak, McDaniels, etc). We'll see how it goes :pccoffee:

Last one on SF for the morning, sorry... In time we will begin to hear what exaclty the "philosophical differences" were between York/Baalke/Harbaugh.

    From Peter King:

“Winning isn’t the only thing matters. Winning with class is what matters.”

—49ers CEO Jed York, on KNBR radio in San Francisco after Jim Harbaugh left the team to coach Michigan.

That’s an important statement. I think it goes to the heart of an important disconnect between Harbaugh and upper management of the 49ers. I have always thought that management believed Harbaugh was too soft on Aldon Smith and his numerous run-ins with the law. The next coach of the 49ers will be tougher on miscreants regardless of how important they are to the team.

Damn I didn't see that. I actually agree. The dude has heart and intensity. He had curbed his mouth greatly this season but still needs to keep maturing.

Good for him. I agree winning with class should be how you do it. But....

Which is funny because the whole McDonald drama Harbaugh wanted him off the team as soon as the first incident happened, but Baalke/York said no...he hasn't been charged. But when they had the second run in they dropped him in a hot second. I have heard the Baalke interviews and York interviews, and they just seemed shady.

If you look back to an October post, I said the Ravens are going to win...

I wonder how bad the Pats hated seeing the Ravens beat the Steelers? It must have sounded something like... "Oh crap, not them again..."
    They hurt us...."

Should be interesting..and a good game. If we don't stop your pass rush it's not going to end well for Brady and the Bunch..

It's not the first time this year, the 2nd meeting against the Eagles the refs picked up two flags thrown against Dallas.
For all the Dallas fans who think there was running into the kicker on Detroit, watch that play again, should have been a flag for illegal hands to the face (BLATANT) on Dallas as well. Off setting penalties at best on that punt.

Dallas did not win... Detroit did not get beat... The refs decided the game!

No way to know.. It would have given them a first down yes but that still doesn't mean they would have scored

Really?!? You know for sure Detroit would have lost if flag is not picked up giving Detroit a first down, in the fourth quarte, @ 6:00 min on the clock, with Detroit leading by 3.
    YEAH OK!?!?!

Stafford was getting creamed, 2 fumbles and a pick. They would have been toast. Best case scenario they would have kicked a field goal and the final would have been 24-23 Dallas.

A missed holding call on 4th down, a picked up PI flag, and no flag for Unsportsmanlike on Dez for running onto the field with his helmet off. That's a totally different ballgame.

I'm just saying highly unlikely Detroit would score considering how Dallas's defense was playing. They would probably get a field goal, and lose by 1 pt.

There were missed calls on both sides of the game. The only time they really get put into focus is by the team that loses. Every team has been on that end of the ball, so I know what you are sayin. I don't know what to tell you about dez, he's a super talented immature kid that needs to be put in the corner sometimes.
