    Glad we agree

Therefore your theory of balls getting squished and compressed cannot cause a loss in pressure , only an increase in pressure if no air escapes the ball

Either way this goes, perhaps the NFL will change procedure. Specifically, have a member of the officiating crew handle the game balls. Problem solved.

Aaron Rodgers admitted to ESPN he prefers the balls overinflated and yet I haven't heard any outrage over that..seems admitting it takes the guesswork out of the equation.

Incorrect. They were caught filming the sidelines of the opposing team to try and see what hand signals they used and compare it with the play they ran. Shady yes...but at the time was not illegal in the NFL. It is now not allowed. So when they WERE filming they were not breaking any rules. As far as this whole deflating BS goes its stupid. I have not read the previous few pages of this thread but do you really think 2psi makes some monumental difference? If it in fact did the refs would notice. The Patriots were the better team clearly, Tom Brady is one of or the best quarterbacks there is or ever was, and Bill is a amazing coach who is always thinking outside the box and pushing the envelope to give his team a edge. Everyone needs to stop crying because they lost.

They lost draft picks. It was cheating.

2 psi is pretty huge when they're only inflated to 12 psi.

I want to believe that the Pats did not do this.... however the fact that its 11/12 balls makes me question myself.

I pray this gets resolved and explained crystal clear one way or another.

To make a example, it was made clear to everyone that technically what they did was not breaking any rules. It was shady and not good sportsmanship, but not cheating. The Patriots run game is what really helped them dominate that game, if the ball had 2psi or 30 psi....that would still be unaffected. Were the balls under inflated? Yes. That falls on the refs....they inspect the balls 30 min before the game, after that the balls are watched by a NFL official and tampering with them is imposable. It was raining so the refs were constantly handling the balls, more so then normal. Taking a towel to it, holding it longer before spotting it, swapping them out for new dry ones, if 2 psi REALLY makes a difference, wouldn't you think a seasoned NFL referee would pick up on it? Yet they didn't. Take two footballs inflate one to 10psi and another to 12psi....see if you can choose which is which. We just tried this at work, out of 10 people only 3 got it right, but maybe they are just bad at guessing.

89% of Pats fans said they don't believe the Patriots would do this to try to gain a competitve advantage...even after they found 11 out of the 12 balls deflated. 650 isn't completely alone, I guess. 89% of NE fans are completely blind to facts.

Oh, and 650, why are you so butthurt?

ohhh boy here we go again...

You give the benefit of the doubt that the the Pats didn't cheat during spygate because technically it wasn't a rule at the time, then you completely minimize deflate-gate because, although it's a rule, it shouldn't make much of a difference. Make up your mind! Just goes to show you how much of a HOMER you are, making up excuses and trying to rationalize.

Spygate led to a $500k fine to Bellicheat, $250k fine to the Pats organization, and a loss of a draft pick... all for an incident that "technically wasn't a rule at the time." Now there is a clear blatant rule being broken, and although we haven't heard the consequences yet, you say it doesn't matter? :jerkoff:

One Colts player told USA TODAY Sports he didn't notice the balls were underinflated, but did notice officials kept swapping out the ball during the game. The player spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter.
The ball Colts linebacker D'Qwell Jackson intercepted in the second quarter was among those investigated, the player said, but Jackson didn't notice the underinflation either.

So the refs and the players didn't notice. Clearly this was a real game changer....

I honestly don't care about the difference of 2psi. And it probably doesn't make a huge difference. BUT A RULE IS A RULE. Get over it homer

I am not minimizing that the balls were under inflated. Thats not the responsibility of the coaches, or the players. So they (The Patriots) did not break a rule. But just because they WERE, it still makes a extremely small, practically unnoticeable, difference. Happy with that wording?
