Also, a poster from a long time ago just did an interview and said he's not buying that this thread isn't going downhill. He was always aware of his threads and where they were going.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
But the original person who said this was going downhill has now retracted his statement and says this is just fine.

Nah, there was that one thread that was 4/4 in the best thread matchup.

lol was being sarcastic bc of the homer pats fans that think everyone is committing a hate crime toward the pats, and saying we should excuse this whole mess bc Brady is the best ever

ABA is the only logical Pats fan in this thread

Matthews's shoulder pad hit Wilson's chest. Putting your head down doesn't matter as long as the crown of the helmet doesn't strike an opponent. The bottom of Wilson's facemask got caught on Matthews's shoulder pad, and Wilson's head twisted. Facemasks hit shoulder pads and a lot of other things. They're for protecting a player's face, and that's what happened here.

Had the Seahawks player been any other position besides QB, kicker, or punter, there wouldn't have been a fine, and Wilson is to blame for getting hit. On an interception or fumble recovery the QB is off limits if he stays in the pocket. Once he pursues the ballcarrier, he's fair game, according to the NFL rules.

If a hit like this is illegal, it makes one wonder if they're even playing football in the NFL anymore. You say that Matthews's intention was to injure. That idea should be thrown out the window. As the film shows, Wilson was on pace to make the tackle and most likely would have had Matthews not thrown that block.

Totally illegal, I mean, how dare he actually HIT the quarterback! The NFL needs new rules, there are still players tackling the quarterback and making it hard for wide receivers to catch the ball! Blasphemy!

Sarcasm aside, it was just a rough block. Reminds me of a few years ago when Ryan Clark fucking decked Wes Welker. Everyone was mad with Clark and Welker basically said "It was a hard hit. This is football."

The replay where you can hear the hit is brutal.
