As funny as this is, it's more applicable to the Cowboys... have you seen their roster?

Fightnfire wasn't running his mouth. He spoke the truth as much as it pains me to say it.

Shrug. You can pretty much pick any football team and find a player with a criminal record. :notsure:

No proof that he lied, since they can't prove that he was involved. They think he lied, because they're pretty sure he was involved. But no proof.
As to not cooperating, as 'leaky' as the league was during this investigation, I wouldn't have turned over my cell phone either. Especially if I happened to have some...pictures... of my supermodel wife on there. Or if I was cheating.

    Still, the punishment is disproportionate.

Perfect timing for the results though. Right after all the headlines die down from the draft...

Naturally. Every time the headlines started to die down during the investigation, the NFL would mysteriously 'leak' some more information.

The punishment is not disproportionate. You have to put context into everything. Aside from Ray Rice and Plaxico Buress where Goodell really F'd up, everything has a severe consequence. Spygate and Deflategate happening to the same team? You better believe that the repeating occurrence of trying to gain a competitive advantage has something to do with it. Goodell has to send a message after all of his F ups, and at the same time, the suspension is going to be appealed, and Brady's games will be reduced, and everyone wins.

What's even more strategic about all of this is that in the middle of May, the sports world is still talking about Football and it has nothing to do with concussions or domestic violence. Either way, Goodell wins

Listening to Dan Patrick, they brought up why isn't Bellichek getting any type of suspension? Sean Payton got one for a year for less than this.

Also, they said the Pats actually make 800k with TB sidelined for 4 games. Thats with the 1m fine.

Exactly. And who better to use than the team that everybody loves to hate? I guarantee that if it'd been any other team that it wouldn't have been nearly as severe. And you can't just write it off to 'repeating occurrences' because EVERY SINGLE other team in the NFL has a history of past offenses where they were caught cheating in one way or another to try to gain a competitive edge. Just look through that website that I posted above. Pick a random team, any one that you want, and you'll find instances of cheating/rules violation during the Brady/Belichik era. But nobody gives a shit, because it's not New England.

Plug the 90's-era cowboys into this scenario, and everybody'd be going ape about them cheating. But nobody really cares if they cheat now, because Tony Romo.

I'd hardly call running a cash bounty system for his team to deliberately try to cause game, season, or career-ending injuries for other players 'less' severe than deflating a football...

I wish none of the teams cheated, and would just play a honest game of football!:(

I also wish this. I'd really rather just watch football than discuss this crap.
Don't get me wrong; I'm very unimpressed with the Patriots for cheating, if they did.
But I still think that the punishment being meted out is overly harsh

I'm also not cool with players deliberately trying to injure other players, sometimes ruining careers!

I think it's annoying that Pats fans keep thinking that everyone is out to get them. So the Pats finally get a justified punishment (which will be appealed) and the whole world is falling. Pats fans are so used to getting slaps on the wrists and not to mention that Goodell and Kraft are butt buddies.

Someone post up a picture of Goodell in a press box chatting up with any other owner like how he does with Kraft. Or a picture of Goodell in any of the other owners' homes for tea and crumpets

Pats fans aren't even talking about how Bellichek isn't getting ANYTHING out of this when Sean Peyton got in trouble for Bountygate and Goodell saying, "Ignorance is not an excuse"

Yah if Brady does serve the 4 game suspension he get's dinged 2 Mil from his yearly take as a Pat. It's just a drop in the bucket of what he'll likely lose in endorsements. Nobody will want to touch that loser. Shit I bet Gillette will dump him come November.

Doesn't much matter this bitch is worth WAY more than he'll ever amount to.
