    Exactly. Its my opinion.

We can disagree without being disagreeable.

Its just that when I hear of a guy, who by all accounts spends more time studying film than almost anyone, and gets TWO YEARS of individual specialized coaching to play a position, and not only does he not get better, HE GETS WORSE....that tells me the guy is just not smart enough for the gig.

It's not his fault...I don't think he's doing it intentionally. He just doesn't have the football IQ to play the position at a high level as a modern quarterback, and never has.

His breakout year was him running rampant when nobody really knew how physically gifted he was. Since everyone figured out how to stop his running, he's been trying to get better with all the tools and help one could ask for and he's actively going the other direction.

You say that's not a shit sammich....OK, perhaps too strong a term. Given these facts, what would YOU call a starting QB that can't actually play QB very well (besides Tebow, Geno, EJ, etc)?

I didn't think we needed to argue the fact that Kap can't read a defense or go through WR progressions? Check 1, run. Check 1, check 2, run.

It's not just Kap. The Niner's have had one strange offseason.

Dec. 28: Jim Harbaugh, head coach. Mutual parting, or so the 49ers announced. Harbaugh moved on to coach Michigan; the 49ers promoted Jim Tomsula two weeks later.

March 10: Patrick Willis, LB. Retired at 30 after eight seasons and seven Pro Bowls, citing his long-term health.

March 11: Frank Gore, RB. Left for the Colts as a free agent. He had played his entire 10-year career with the 49ers and was their all-time rushing leader with 11,073 yards.

March 11: Mike Iupati, G. Signed with the Cardinals as a free agent, after five years and three Pro Bowls in San Francisco.

March 13: Chris Culliver, CB. Signed with Washington as a free agent. Had played in Super Bowl XLVII after 2012, missed the next season with a torn ACL and came all the way back last season.

March 17: Chris Borland, LB. Retired at 24, after one season, citing concerns about concussions and their after-effects.

April 13: Michael Crabtree, WR. Signed with the Raiders after the 49ers essentially replaced him with free agent Torrey Smith.

May 18: Justin Smith, DT. Retired after 14 seasons, the last seven with the 49ers. He made the Pro Bowl five times.

June 5: Anthony Davis, T. Announced he would “take a year or so” away from football because of the beating he’s taken. He’s 25 and has played five seasons. Very unclear whether he’ll ever return.

Friday: Aldon Smith, LB. Released hours after his latest arrest, this one on charges including DUI, vandalism and hit-and-run.

don't get me wrong....i was a big niners fan (well, a jerry and joe and ronnie fan more than anything, but hey) back when eddie d was running things. what they've had to deal with in the last year is absolutely silly bad. i honestly don't know how they can do anything besides be a dumpster fire in 2015 at this point. they're almost cursed, by the look from the outside.

i'd start looking for witch-doctors to hire on as consultants at a certain point. its pretty tough for me to feel bad for a billion+ dollar organization, but they're making me come awful close

Yeah yeah yeah, we get it. You don't like Kaep. Fine. I think his head was jerked in way too many different directions by too many people. He's young. I give him a another year or two. But without a stable foundation (9er ownership, coaching staff), it's going to be a challenge.

Kaeps problems started before any of this happened. By many accounts, Harbaugh may not have done him any good. Then they tried to change his style of play.

Frankly, I don't think Harbaugh did ANYone any good.

He has a very self-destructive leadership style. His 'short term success at the cost of long term cohesion' way of doing things is bearing what was sown. I kinda feel bad for Tomsula...there's really no success for him at this point.

The paycheck will be nice, but ... wow. I can't imagine that being a happy place to try an coach for the next 2, 3 seasons....after which, you're canned anyways.

Might also have been an aneurysm, or somesuch as well. DVT. Liver shutdown. Hell, renal failure could qualify.

They're pretty vague, although I can understand them being so

I was joking. The dude was old. And partied hard. No doubt why you stated liver failure.
