One of the things that continually gets under my skin: Imaging how many titles Green Bay might have right now if Ted Thompson actually spent money?

I'm not saying go full Snyder or anything. But he's done well in the limited forays into free agency: See Peppers and Charles Woodson.

How about a big name every few years? Theey ended last year with 16M in cap space. They started with free agency this year with 15M in room. Now, they're at...14.9M.

Don't go full Zombie Al, but a good FA signing every other year, especially with the 'I have nekkid pictures of Mike McCarthy' Capers shitshow of a defense somehow still in place, could be a HUGE difference.

Can you imagine how many games more they'd win if they had an actual competent proper strong safety again? Or 3-4 DEs worth more than a ham sandwich?

Makes me long for the days of Yore when Eddie just outspent everybody for the best talent. It's hard to believe he bought the Niners for a mere $17 million when you look at salaries now.

So, the Bills picked up IK Enemkpali.

Maybe Rex is hoping he'll help narrow the QB competition...

Not sure about this one... he must have seen something last year about this kid. The Bills are pretty set at LB so it must be a depth/special teams thing... kind of risky for just special teams. I don't think Incognito was a risk because there was a huge need and if you read between the lines players like him have existed just fine in the league forever (loud mouth punks). Harvin is a stretch, he has not fit in on multiple teams.

it all looks good now, we will see what happens when they start to lose.

"...a mortal sin in the eyes of any Seahawk fan, since everyone knows the Steelers robbed us in the 2006 Super Bowl. (No, stop, don’t try to debate this; the ref admitted it.)

Yeah yeah yeah. Every team has a heart break "we wuz robbed" story. So what. Get over it.

And just about every team that has spent time 'At the Top" gets hated. SF, Pitt, New England, Dallas, Oakland. With the possible exception of Green Bay. Hell, in Green Bay the fans OWN the team. Now thats status, and grounds for being a homey. But, to be honest, I don't really have a problem with the fans, so much. It's more a few of the players.

the funny part is (to me, anyhow) you now have 'unnamed players' from the J E S T saying that geno was the instigator, that he was the one all up in that kids face and being a dick about intentionally not paying the kid back. literally that he deserved it.

wow, todd bowles, sorry your first trip as a head coach was of this short-bus circus

Heard the same. That the kid was confronting him about the money, and Geno stuck his fingers in the kids face. POW. Down goes Geno. Down goes Geno.

Talk shit, get hit I guess. Smith probably thought he was untouchable since he was the starter though

You know what I love about the Seahawks hate? Is that people say the dumbest crap about Seattle, acting like EVERYONE is a bandwagon fan and try and throw uninformed insults that just make us laugh. Most NFL fans never gave the Seahawks a second thought and never paid attention to anyone wearing fan gear until they make a run to the Super Bowl. I lived in Denver for 10 years, wearing Seahawks and Mariners shirts/hats and prior to Jan 2014 I might get ONE comment a year about them. Now it happens multiple times a day when wearing Seahawks stuff, but of course never anything about the M's.

The stadium comments are also funny. Of course it was designed for noise. The Kingdome was LOUD. Husky Stadium was LOUD. Paul Allen was smart in trying to keep that tradition alive by using Husky Stadium as one of the design influences to create a loud open air football stadium. It worked. People outside Seattle didn't care until the first Super Bowl run.

And at what point does a fan go from bandwagon to true fan? There were definitely several that jumped on in 2005, but they stayed on.

I hate this quote. In my view those (admitted) botched calls screwed ALL NFL fans out of what should have been a better Super Bowl. Those plays and bad calls don't exist in a vacuum and if they were made correctly, different plays would have developed and I think we would have seen one of the more competitive Super Bowls to the end. There is no way you can say the Seahawks would have won the game, but I do think it would have been a closer game at the end.

As a guy who knew Dave Kreig's family from down in Iola, I followed the 'Hawks a bit over the years.

And yes, between the Owl ripoff and the Fail Mary, I think the 'hawks are damn near evens at this point. That one win would have made the NFCCC at Lambeau that season, which would have been a very different game.

Ah well. Water under the bridge.

Answer: When the team starts to suck (And they will. Happens to all teams eventually) and the fans stick around. We don't know the answer to that question regards the Seahawks just yet.

I spent my entire youth(and continue to be) as a SF Giants fan, through thick and thin, and thinner. Years going to Candlestick freezing my ass off with about 8 thousand other die hards. Then the new stadium was built and you could hardly get a ticket. Everybody was there. Celebrities filled the place. I was a Season Ticket holder for a few years but dropped them when it became impractical for me to go all the time. Then they win 3 World Series in 5 years and suddenly EVERYBODY is a die hard Giants fan. We'll see where these same folks are when the giants fall on hard times.

Being a Packers fan in the 70s and 80s was a dark time. I can very much identify.

We've been absurdly fortunate to get to go from Favre to Rodgers. Really, I think, only Montana/Young is a similar handoff.

I'm not looking forward to sucking again. But I'm pretty sure we will once Aaron is done. Karma nearly guarantees it at this point.
