Been a Niner fan since I was a child, and that was a while back. I'll admit I was a fair weather Raider fan back in the steroid days when Tooz and Alzado looked like comic book superhero's.

I was a big fan of Rice and Lott, as those are the positions I played (while GB was really, really bad around that time. ahhh, the 'battle of the bungling bays' twice a year when the Pack played the Creamsicles...)

Grew up a Niners fan. My Grandfather lived across the street from Kezar Stadium, in Golden Gate Park. But for a while, when I was about 8 or 9, my best friend's second cousin was Jerry Kramer. He sent us autographed pictures of……………….. Bart Starr. Loved it. My favorite Packer wore my favorite number 5. Paul Hornung. I knew all the players names. And I still watched them after the Glory Days when they had John Brockington and Donny Anderson and The Majik Man.

But always, I stuck with, and suffered through, some really bad years watching the Niners with my dad.

How many years of suck? They had 4 straight losing seasons prior to Russell Wilson showing up.

The only time I can recall the fans not showing up was in the early 90's and that was not fans jumping off the bandwagon, it was fans protesting the idiot owner. That also happens to various teams. We are seeing it here in Denver with the Rockies.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
The seahawks haven't been "bad" since before 2006. A lot of these fans have come on strong since 2012. In fact, 4 years ago you NEVER saw a street vendor outside of SODO selling seahawks gear. Now I find these idiots all the way down into Portland with knock off gear. This is straight bandwagon stuff.

It's like the guy I talked to who was wearing a SuperSonics hat... asked him who his favorite SS player was. He looked at me, straight faced, and said that it was just a hat, and wasn't a real team. He got it because it looked cool.

Did you know the reason the stadium constantly sold out? It was because they offered huge discounts on tickets to corporations until last year. My wife's office used to get them... until last year. They were told they finally had enough interest to not need to sell discounted tickets like that anymore.

True, but a couple of 4 and 5 win seasons would make bandwagon fans bail pretty quick. I know there are a bunch, I am just wondering how many have stuck through it. We saw the same thing with the M's in the late 90's/early 2000's and the Sonics in the mid 90's. The timing of the street vendors is interesting in that not only did they get good, but it also happened when they had a uniform design change. There was a real spike in sales and gear after the earlier design change as well. So some may be bandwagon but some might also be people wanting updated gear.

Sounds like me talking to a Broncos fan that didn't realize Seattle had been in the AFC West for years...

I wonder how long that will last. It is one thing to be a fan. It is another to be willing to pay crazy ticket prices to go to a game.

Same in New england..ive been a fan most of my life (41) and we had the shit years, for instance 30 or so yrs ago you could walk up and buy a great seat. My brother in law got season tix then because they got blacked out so often on TV. Back in 2002 the wait list for season tix was 10 yrs, I shudder to think what it is now.

I was referring to what it will be like once the Good Times are over. We won't know the answer until they fall off the peak and are mired in the valley. Probably won't have to wait too long, as the contracts are negotiated, and re-negotiated, and they're up against the CAP. Enjoy it while you can.

    *sigh

It's like they're TRYING to muck this up

Thank you. It is actually a lineup of six Spitfires. I shot this in England last summer and it has been a rather popular print.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes for things to cycle back. If it takes awhile, maybe some bandwagon fans turn to longer term? I personally don't care one way or another, it is just some interesting thoughts on how someone becomes a fan of a team. As for how long it takes, the expensive contracts are being negotiated with some real key pieces. They will definitely lose several of the guys but hopefully those guys will be able to help develop the cheaper, younger talent that will have to fill in piece by piece.

And yes, I am enjoying this. Years of frustration with Seattle sports taught me to REALLY enjoy this.

Yes it is. A lot of people look at the print, even the large 20x30 and think they are a lineup of Mustangs. I can see how since the Spitfire isn't the first plane you would expect to see a lineup of here in the U.S.

Ah, the arrogance of the Patriots. Here's Brady starting in an exhibition game. The standard we are above it all no matter what attitude from this club.

Definitely not the Mustang. The nose does look similar, but that huge scooping intake on the belly sets it apart.

I was surprised to see how many reps the first teamers got on both sides. Of course, 3 series was like 8 snaps for Tawmy Brieber and Co...
