Now I'm not gonna bash N.E. or Brady, but Mike , you said a few post back (maybe yesterday) something about petty claims to cheating.. THIS is what I take issue with, started back in 07' or '08 (with the Chargers anyway) N.E. staff were caught videoing Charger practices, this isn't a claim, it's a fact, not petty, kinda serious shit IMO...

It made me mad but was dissapointed more than anything, had a lot of respect for the pats up to that point, they were a better team than that I thought...

There's a difference between bashing when it isn't deserved and going too far the other way.

Look, the Belicheck system is astonishingly good. He's as close to a modern Lombardi or Walsh as there is. When Matt goddamned Cassel can come in and win 10-11 games, you're not fucking around. Nobody (that isn't a moron) would try to say otherwise. Brady's an excellent QB with near-perfect mechanics and a precise grasp of that offense. The two together have the hardware to prove how effective they can be.

But cheating because you can taints ALL of it. They've been caught at it multiple times. This isn't hyperbole. The league office has had to make up new punishments just to hit the Pats with for cheating. This isn't bashing. None of what I said here is anything but stone cold fact.

I would say he's not making 10 million less than he should. I'd say the Patriots know exactly how good he is and pay him accordingly, as they know they could have a Matt Cassel 2.0 come in and have them in the playoff hunt next year regardless of Tom's presence.

He's the football equivalent of Bob Dylan. Excellent at a small part of selling pop music (songwriting, composing) and meh at the execution, but so over-rated by mouthbreathing fools whose spawn guarantee we get more Justin Brieber and Kanye (to show how well that musical taste has been passed down) that he's hailed as some kind of lower level deity when he's really just the face at the front while the hard work gets done behind the scenes by other people.

I was really addressing mike's "playing down" the petty claims of cheating comment...

You know Andy Brandt was an agent for years AND spent a decade in the front office of an NFL team as a capologist and personnel guy, along with handling all the contract negotiations for the entire franchise, right? Ya know, the only franchise in sports with open books, showing how well he did his job?

 

Ok so he has integrity(shouldn't we all ?), let him be brady's agent to bang the drum for more $$$$ instead of sniveling about what a "raw deal" he's getting

 

You're missing the forest for the trees.

The point was, the Pats are grossly underpaying Brady for his production level, and that is really unusual in the NFL.

Brady already has an agent (albeit a pretty crappy one, from what I've seen and heard this spring from the mans' own mouth) and Andy is pretty happy with his own teaching and reporting gigs ATM.

 

Brady took a pay cut to make the pats' cap room bigger. I think it was to keep Gronk on the team? 650 should know which player it was

Yea, I respect Brady for not being greedy like some other players in the NFL... cough chancellor cough... He seems to understand that if he's paid what he's technically worth that he won't have many players around him to get to a SB. Imagine Brady without Edelman, Gronk, an offensive line, a defense...

 

Here's the issue... Your own Chargers were wiping balls down with fucking stickum-covered towels, and when confronted, the towels disappeared. Nothing. You hear fucking nothing. The whole spygate thing? They weren't punished for videotaping signals, THATS LEGAL. They were punished for the position of the camera. The fucking position of their camera. It was on the sidelines and not in an "approved" area. It was fucking legal to tape from the sidelines in 06, the Pats do it in 07, and it's illegal, and now they're cheaters, and all they do is cheat, and Brady and Belichick deserve to be discredited from everything they've accomplished. It's fucking petty, just like deflategate, and it's brought on by teams who can't beat the Pats so they try to make up whatever they can, because no one outside of New England likes the fucking patriots. If the 49ers were constantly beating up my team, I wouldn't like them all that much... Catch what I'm saying? The NFL as an entity is designed to punish successful teams - they want everyone to be even, a different winner every year. This is evidenced by draft picking - win and you go last, lose and you go first. The NFL gets mad that the Patriots win too much, fuckboys Troy Vincent and Eric Mangini dont like them because their jets fucking suck dick, and here we are today. You really think this is all Goodell? Listen, if it wasn't written in fucking crayon, Goodell didn't write it. That retard is merely a face for everyone to blame. It's the owners getting pissed that they can't fucking win. The fans getting pissed that their teams can't fucking win. The Pats are 3-0 because they're fucking better than who they played. They won super bowl XLIX because they were better than the Seahawks. They won their division, and the AFC conference because they were the best. Not because of fucking cheating. Don't get yer panties in a bunch... I addressed YOUR comment , down playing the "petty claims of cheating". thats all.. You said it like it doesn't mean anything, I'm sayin' it DOES mean something, it ain't about N.E. getting over or there should be a separate set of standards, they should ALL comply to ethical,fair sta ndards, no exceptions, they all cheat to some point I'd imagine, hell, penalties are committed every down somewhere on the field, just if the ref catches it..I'm not that naive, & my team ?? I'm just saying, claiming the Pats cheat is petty, it's nearsighted, and it's a lazy argument for those who don't know much about football. The Pats still play better than most, and deserve everything they have.
