    It's not called, it's never called. We've all seen the punter, QB, linemen bat the ball out of the endzone hundreds of times. Steve Young, Dilfer and Lewis all didn't know about the rule.. Young and Dilfer said they've done it a bunch of times and never been called.

    In all honesty I'm lost, Blandino just said it's a penalty regardless of the team that batts the ball out. How come it's never called, In my 30 years of watching NFL I've never seen it called on any team... QB, Punter, O-Line etc.

    I've seen it called if someone bats it out of bounds on the sidelines.

    As it was described, if the punter bats it out of the endzone, the flag might not be called because it'll be a safety either way.
