Sets up a hell of a game next week... I use to think I wanted the Hawks to get the 5 seed now I don't really care. I almost prefer they take the week to rest up, lots of little nagging injuries.

Well with the packers losing this week the outcome of the Viking game didn't even affect anything for the game next week. Either GB was gonna go in to the game with a one game lead or they would go in tied, but a Vikings win would win the division either way because of tiebreakers.

But, next week will be great game either way and very possibly could be a preview of the wildcard game as well. Could end up being Min @ GB two weeks in a row.

I'm not sure if you saw the game where you were or not, the Pats offense was TERRIBLE. I'm 99% certain they would have gone three and out like they did against the Broncos and lost by a Jets FG the other way. I agree with it, I think Bill put the better-performing unit on the field to start OT, and tried to make things a little easier for his shitty offense, which would have only had to put together maybe 30-50yds to win (if D does it's job), as opposed to 80+. But, defense blew the game and that's the bottom line.

Secondly, I think it's time to stop over-rating Malcolm Butler. Sure, he made a great play for the team in the Super Bowl, and he's played some OK games here and there this season. The truth is, he is not a cover corner, and struggles running routes/being disciplined enough to stay on his guy's route and not jump to another route. Logan Ryan has been solid with safety help all season, however, he's had probably the best free-safety in the league helping him, and without that help, as we saw yesterday, Ryan is barely mediocre as well. I still agree with letting Revis/Browner go, but these two are not the answer - maybe Butler could be a decent #2 corner, but he's not a #1, and I don't see it happening for him unless he really smartens up, and starts showing the discipline needed to play that position. He doesn't have enough raw talent to make the mental mistakes he has been making.

I hate blaming injuries because every team in the league deals with them, some more than others. Part of being a good team is having depth at positions, and using that depth adequately. I think the Patriots have more than enough depth at the positions which they have injuries, however, I think Mcdaniels, Brady, and Belichick complicate things on themselves by not allowing that depth to be used. Brady, for some reason, won't throw the ball to newer receivers. He won't even throw it to LaFell after all the drops. I get it, you have to be able to trust a guy, but at some point, the guy just needs to be trusted because he made the team, and is suited up to play that day, regardless of chemistry. Disappointing how little Brady threw the ball to different receivers yesterday, and I have a hard time believing all the receivers were covered perfectly on every play. It was Keshawn Martin and Gronk, and that was it. No LaFell, no Harper, No Chandler, none of the newer guys. I think that hurts the team, and it's a fault of Brady's/Mcdaniels'.

Mcdaniels has also been a terrible play caller all season. I don't see why he keeps coming up as a top option for a head coach job somewhere. He may be smart, but he really sucks at calling a game. He has probably the best QB/TE/SR in the league, and he chooses to run the ball with Brandon Bolden. I dont get it. I don't see how he still has a job honestly.

I can't see where it's ever a good idea to kick in OT. So your offense has been sluggish. All it takes is 1 play to win the game. If you go 3 and out, you punt and flip field position and rely on your defense anyway.

Face it, Billy made a mistake and it cost the pats the game.

Yeah, the Pats offense wasn't up to par, but it was good enough for a tie in OT. Couldn't have they knocked the Jets out of contention with a win? The Jets usually play them hard. I would have wanted a win going into the playoffs.

FWIW the Vikings elected to play the wind to start OT against the Rams and it worked perfectly. But the wind was howling and was clearly affecting the kickers who were having hard time making even short field goals.

They ended up stopping the Rams in three plays and kicked a game winning field goal going with the wind.

Like the Pats, Zimmer had a defense that he knew he could trust and decided to let them prove themselves.

It's over now, that game didn't mean anything for the Pats anyways...

The Broncos are still alive for the #1 seed.

Oh I know, but it's still the Dolphins, one of NE's favorite teams to lose games to when they shouldn't.

If the playoffs were today, who would be #1? I forget how the tiebreakers work

    The Patriots.

NE is still a game better than DEN. The Broncos need a win this weekend and a Pats loss for the #1 seed. Denver owns the tiebreaker over NE and CIN due to beating them both.

I always get confused because tis the season for playoffs in the dart league I am part of running and our tiebreaker system is a little unique.

Someday my team will field a defense again. Gonna be a long string of almost-but-not-quite playoff misses until then.

If Peyton was still playing, would people care more about him using hgh? Weird how the weather makes some footballs a little soft for half of a blowout game and it's all Brady's fault and he's a piece of shit etc, but someone actually physically cheats and people are like "eh." I guess it's easy to hate the best...
