i dont know for sure, but hes been an NFL coach for three years? Is that enough to judge a persons coaching quality? Hes 26-21 overall after two seasons going 10-6. He ran people off and grinded his guys, but he still won. He was a QB away from having great teams.

According to Jason LaConfora (the best NFL insider imo) "This was Kelly's only opportunity, even with ALL the openings, and even then it took the 49ers losing Hue Jackson to the Browns first"

Every other team steered clear. Evidently Philly was a mess..

    Ouch.

Then I assume he'll be given the same opportunity Tomsula was and be fired after one year if he can't turn things around.

He did coach a 4-win team to the playoffs in his first year and won 10 games in his second. He really didn't start having trouble until he started getting aggressive as a GM.

Was definitely a good first year, concerning though that it got worse over time and not better. That speaks to the coach's character imo. If the players believe and buy in it should get continually better. However, it could also just point to his inability to manage the roster and not his coaching ability. I would say a mix of the two.

IMO, if he would have been forced to keep the players from the Reid era and draft and develop talent, the Eagles would be a very good team today, and Kelly would have support in the locker room. IIRC all the players that were angry with Chip were so because he traded all the talent away.

Agreed. What I want to know is why he got rid of those players? It doesn't appear to be a money issue... McCoy vs. Murray.. so one can assume they just didn't "mesh" with his system. The major question is, will NFL players "mesh" with his system or is it more tailored to college players that can have a scholarship hung over their head for motivation?

I think it takes two very different skill sets to succeed in the NFL vs NCAA, so few have been able to do it.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
He did succeed for 2 years before he was given major control of personnel. I believe he can succeed... just not sure how well so early. He has a tremendous amount of talent on offense he can use, they just need to all be healthy. Not a single game went by with more than 7 full time starters.

He needs a RB who will stay healthy longer than 3 games. He already has an O-line that is built for a run first offense. He *has* a QB who is versed in spread attack... we shall see if he can regain confidence before the next season starts. I don't know if his head is really back to normal, and I don't see it getting 100x better in the near future.

I'll be interested to see his coaching staff though.

I am beginning to think Chip orchestrated this whole thing. He is now coaching a team with a QB that fits his system. Once he realized in his 2nd year at Phili he couldn't get Mariota he gutted the team. The Eagles have not been in this bad shape since Kotite!

If job definitions are clearly defined, who Knows? If he loses the...... chip on his shoulder, it could work.

Apparently the Eagles have hired Doug Peterson (current OC with the Chiefs) as new head coach. I am completely indifferent about this hiring. From all I am hearing here in Phila no one is happy about this decision.
The GM for the Eagles , Howie Roseman, is a supposed problem having issues with everyone excluding Lurie. It is appearing to me they have hired another Jason Garret, a puppet controlled by Roseman.
I'm not feeling good about this at all the more I think about it !!!

The 49ers hired Chip Kelly. The Yorks realized they were at rock bottom and elected to go out and purchase a drill.
