NFL Trash Talkers Thread

Big Hawks fan here, and I completely agree... Bottom line is they didn't show up until after the half. I've been saying for 3 years that this "win in the 4th quarter" crap has been way too ingrained in them to the point of detriment. Pete even made a rah-rah speech about that very MO to the team last week. Hawks are great but they have GOT to stop doing that. Makes for exciting, nail biting, high blood pressure finishes, but what happened yesterday was the culmination of too much emphasis on the end of a game and not nearly enough on the beginning / middle.

 

Maybe someday they will figure it out. Seems like they only have 3-4 games that they came out on fire and kept it through the game.

 

I'm completely lost by this? You don't think traveling to the east coast for a 10am start is a disadvantage? The record of west coast teams traveling east says otherwise.

Maybe if the Seahawks played better during the regular season they could have hosted the game, or maybe the sun was not in the correct celestial position, maybe it rained in Japan at 4 am, oh wait...the tide was not as high in N. Carolina as it as in Seattle at 1 am, yeah that's the true reason Seattle lost.

I'm not a professional football player, but if my team was up by 31 points halfway through a game, I'd probably relax a bit and rest up for the next game.

They're almost as bad as the Bungles QB saying that the rain was a factor in their loss to the Steelers last week. He said that whenever he had the ball it was raining, but when the Steelers had the ball it wasn't

 

I think it was a couple years ago that the 49ers set a record for most miles traveled in a season. Thing is, as you noted, west coast teams get hosed by the schedule more than other teams. But to cry about it after a loss like that, sour grapes.

 

Win more games and you don't have to travel east.


I'm really just talking shit to rile you guys up. It's easy to do. A lot of the Hawks fans in this thread are as bad as 650 was. (I say was because he seems to have calmed down on the nut gargling.....for now.)

 

It's not really our fault we have something to be passionate about. If I lived with the shitty Atlanta Falcons and the shittier constantly underachieving Georgia Bulldogs I would sit around during playoff time and flip shit to all the fans of the good teams too.

 

Eh, with you, it's not so much the passion for your team as much as you're always right about everything. Always. And everyone else is "ignorant".

 

Do I need to grab some posts from the 49ers forums my friend, especially the ones about the crowd noise in Seattle? There will always be fans whining and making excuses..

 

PS, the shitty Atlanta Failcons did what Seattle couldn't do...beat the Panthers.

It's not the NFL's fault the Hawks are from Seattle. I'm sure the team was on the east coast for a few days adjusting to the time change. So, to answer your earlier question, no, I don't see it as a disadvantage.

This is using the spread, not just wins and losses, so it takes into account shitty teams traveling east. West coast teams traveling east are a problem for the NFL.

Roger Goodell recognizes it:

"Several of our teams on the West Coast have raised that and we have been studying it," he said. "We have tried to put as many of those games on the East Coast at 4 p.m. You can imagine the thousands of different issues you have to put into the schedule. But the 10 o'clock starts are pretty tough."

When I am in this thread I am laughing the vast majority of the time. A few of the peanut gallery like to sit and lob shots all day and then get all butt hurt when you fire back. It's weird.
