One reason why I don't buy the jerseys. I have 3 (Pats #52 Johnson, Pats #12 Brady, Broncos #7 Elway) and all were gifts.

 

Much crap as has been thrown at the Patriots and Tom Brady in this thread and elsewhere...does it sound a little stupid that he got 4 games off (plus having this process going on for 2 years now) when the league office still cannot prove the allegation, when on the other hand you have things like the current state of the NFL?

I don't know, what's the "current state" of the NFL? Gaining popularity and ratings at a record pace/level and making more money for everyone than ever before. Outpacing every other sport on the planet in terms of revenue gain and profits. Players protesting imo does not reflect at all on the current state of the league itself.

People like to trash Goodell but that will be his legacy. I don't see how anyone could think he has his priorities mixed up. Arguably he has his priorities exactly where they should be. Make money, maintain power and clean up the league. That seems like it would be the top 3 in his job description. Maybe you don't like how he's gone about it in a FEW cases, but for the majority...

Was he too hard on Ray Rice, I don't think so.
Was he too hard on Pacman Jones, nope.
Was he too hard on Aldon Smith, fuck no.
Josh Gordon, nope.
Adrian Peterson, not hard enough imo.

Tom Brady, nope. The NFLPA allowed him to have the power he has, they have no one to blame but themselves. You don't need a video recording, or bruises to find someone guilty. Tom Brady was found guilty by the league's attorneys, the public and many of his peers.

 

The BS with Brady went on for 2+ years because of..... Brady. He didn't like his punishment and tried to find a way out of it and as a result found out the hard way that he doesn't get to weasel out of a contract that he signed. Had he taken his suspension and moved on the whole ordeal would've been over and done with week 4 of last season. Blame the commish all you want, but he had the power to do what he did and wasn't gonna let Brady and his lawyers push him around.

 

NFL said no no to jerry jones about "blue lives matter decals"....might be offensive....
