Any theories why NFL viewing is down about 14% this season? Too much mediocrity?, not enough exciting QB's, everybody just concerned with their fantasy team? I read where they are giving away ad time for lack of viewers.

I still watch as much as I can but quite a bit of the games are boring. I'm glad I have RedZone. :)

I have 5 fantasy teams that I monitor closely. That makes me watch the games more to see if my team is doing well.

Peyton retired. Lots of old QBs in the league.

People are insanely pissed off at this Kapernick bullshit. Lots of folks screaming boycotts.

Team performance this year doesn't seem as good as years past.

Nike Color Play uniforms have been including mass vomiting (except the Bengals, those white uniforms looked good).

Younger viewers don't watch TV or pay for Cable services. Lots of people are keeping cable only for the NFL and other sports, as they become available to stream people drop cable.

Ya, my Niners are a hot mess, and Kaps shit certainly isn't helping. The '80s is calling and they want their protest haircut back.

I think the NFL has reached its peak. I agree on the issue about Kap but I also think the rule changes each year are severely affecting it.
This is the third time in the last 15 years they have changed kick off rules, the roughing QB calls and non calls are ridiculous. The more rule changes the more loss of interest. The game today is not the game of the 70s and 80s.

    crap like this:

Beginning Wednesday, NFL teams can be fined for violating a newly introduced part of the league's social media policy.

According to two league memos obtained by ESPN, teams no longer can shoot video inside the stadium during the game and post it on social media, nor can they use Facebook Live, Periscope or any other app to stream anything live within the stadium.

Teams also can't take highlights of what happens on the field and make it their own by using their own video or posting highlights from television directly to social media. Teams also can't turn highlights into GIFs (graphic interchange formats).

In conversation with the teams, sources said that league executives want to make sure that content generated within the stadiums, including game highlights, are hosted by team websites so that the league maintains control of what is disseminated.

Violations of the policy will cost teams up to $25,000 upon the first instance, up to $50,000 the second time and up to $100,000 for each additional violation of the policy.
