Niners shopping Torrey Smith and Joe Staley

They should also try shopping that damn stadium in Santa Clara and open a real stadium in SF

    Some really cool shit
Thursday Night games were nice when they weren't EVERY Thursday. Then it was something you looked forward to. I like the Sunday Night game because, on the West Coast, it's only 5 o'clock. Perfect.

Viewership is down for a number of reasons. But a recent fan poll said boycotting games because of Krapernick.

Exactly. Sunday night games have been going on for years (25 or so?). I don't see them as the problem. Thursday night games every week is too much.

Most people I know that have stayed away are doing because of the protesting. I am less interested in games this year because there it feels like there is always a game coming up and if it does not involve my team I don't care, I can always catch a highlight anytime and anywhere.

Pretty sure the stadium is half empty because of other reasons as well.

    1. The team sucks.
    2. Management sucks and a lot of my PSL friends are sticking it to Jed until Trent Baalke gets fired
    3. Even when people are at the games, they aren't in their seats. They're in one of the state of the art clubhouses with all the amenities.

Seriously, how does Baalke keep his effen job? This franchise is on the ropes right now. When any business falls apart, you have to look at the top eventually. I will concede though that Kaepernick's antics are incredibly badly timed. It's kind of surreal what's happened to this team in the last couple seasons. We are becoming the Cleveland Browns of the west.

Believe it or not, there are worse GMs out there. But I agree, Trent needs to go, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was let go. This past off season, they promoted Tom Gamble to assistant GM, and I could only assume that he's the shoe-in when Trent gets let go because 1. He has personnel experience 2. He has history with Chip and they get along 3. Jed likes hiring within because he's a lazy SOB and doesn't know any better (i.e. Baalke, Singletary, Tomsula, Mangini)

And it's pretty evident how you feel about Kaepernick (since it's like in everyone of your posts), but I can tell you that that has zero effect on the team, coaches, and owner. In fact, several players, Chip and Jed have all publicly endorsed Kaepernick. The only player who has said something even slightly against Kap was the center Kilgore, but they he said that after Kap talked to the team at a players-only meeting, everyone completely understood him and said that this whole thing has in fact, gotten the team closer.

Edit: I may hve confused you for someone else :D

Yes, on NBC. Prior to that ESPN (and TNT early on) broadcast Sunday night games starting in 1987. The games have existed, only the networks have changed.

I don't believe anything that players or coaches say about having to do with the locker room. I believe they will lie to our faces to protect the image. It seems really clear to me that the SF locker room is a complete disaster right now. It's the only logical explanation for the mess that is the team. It's a disaster top to bottom including the GM, the owner and the players on the roster. I can't imagine if the locker room was good all of the players walking away from the game as has happened in SF. Retiring players isn't an epidemic in the NFL it's an epidemic on the San Francisco 49ers. Why?

Awesome, you have an educated guess. But show me any articles to anything in the locker room being a distraction. The locker room isn't a complete disaster. If it it was, I'd be the first to recognize it. I'm not one to think that our own shit doesn't stink - as evident in how I've said things about Jed York and Trent Baalke. Those two and their media leaks are a complete disaster.

The retired players were all injured: Willis (feet), Borland and Davis (concussions). If anyone is going to say shit about the locker room, it's Anthony Davis. Both times when he was retired, he talked a BUNCH of shit about Trent. He gives no fucks. If there was an issue in the locker room, he'd be one of the first to say shit

Injuries are everywhere. That doesn't explain the players walking away.

Before this year, Kap was the only player that had beef with anyone. He took Aldon Smith's girl and he was pretty much a loner in the locker room. But since he's taken his stand and addressed the whole team, he's pretty much rebranded himself and has friends on the team now. If only his play improved :(

You're really talking out of your ass now. Go watch Willis' retirement press conference and see how way off you are. Borland is like the leader in research with the NFL and concussions. He's gone on to talk and learn about this with several organizations and colleges and is still continuing to do research. I've already talked about Davis.

The only other players that retired are Marcus Lattimore, who had an ACL coming into the league and never could get healthy and never played, and Justin Smith, who was old AF and it was his time.
